Trump supporters are revealing the ‘red line’ that would make them stop supporting him and people say it’s ‘disturbing’

Trump fans are revealing what would make them stop supporting the president.

It may have only been eight months since President Trump won the 2024 election, but his approval ratings are already slipping.

A newly released poll by the Emerson College Polling found that 45 percent of respondents 46 per approved of the way Trump was running the US, while 46 percent disapproved. The remaining nine percent said they were unsure.

More specifically, 45 percent believed the country was on the wrong track.

Another poll released by Quinnipiac University earlier this month has equally damning results and found that just 38 percent of Americans approve of Trump's work as president, marking the lowest approval rating in decades.

With these figures in mind, Trump supporters have taken to Reddit to discuss what would make them stop being in favor of the president — or what already has.

Somebody penned on the social media platform: "Trump supporters: what is a red line that, if crossed, would make you stop supporting Trump?"

One person revealed that this posed their father with this question, who is 'a big Trump supporter as any person can claim'.

"If the cuts to Medicaid and Social Security go through, he will lose his faith in Trump," they wrote.

A second also asked their Trump-supporting parents the same thing. Sharing their response, Redditor revealed: "I asked them this question and the answer probably wouldn't surprise anyone: Their redline is socialist/liberal policy and/or practice. Nationalized healthcare. Wealth tax. Supporting unions. Federal regulation in general, but especially federal regulation of media.

"Supporting equal rights policies. Supporting voter protections and vote by mail. Immigration that is inclusive rather than exclusive. Etc. To my folks liberalism is a disease, an evil that needs to be wiped out of the country by any and all means necessary."

A fellow Redditor branded their reply as 'freaking disturbing'. A different person who has already lost faith in Trump shared: "I used to be a Trump supporter and voted for him in 2020. January 6th was my red line.

"He and his supporters showed contempt for democracy that day. Since then, I’ve deconstructed much of my religion and politics have come with it - I now consider myself a moderate Democrat."

"I already know some republicans that support Ukraine and totally flipped on Trump today after that disgraceful meeting with Zelensky," added a different person, referring to the chaotic meeting the two world leaders had with one another back in February.
