Police have issued an update into an investigation involving a corpse that was found in the truck of a Tesla.
Earlier this month police were alerted to a vehicle that was in Hollywood tow yard in Los Angeles that had a foul smell coming from it. It's thought the car had been on the yard 'for a couple of days'.
Law enforcement went on to make a grisly discovery and found a decomposing body in the trunk of the vehicle.
In a statement to LADbible Group at the time, the LAPD said: "On 9/8/25 around 12:20 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue for a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard.

"Detectives responded and located possible human remains. It is currently a death investigation. We do not have information on the owner of the vehicle."

It went on to be revealed that the car was registered to the singer d4vd, real name David Anthony Burke.
When news of the discovery broke, d4vd was on his Withered tour. He was supposed to perform in Seattle yesterday but the gig was canceled.

The singer is reportedly aware of the situation and is 'fully cooperating with the authorities'.
His rep previously said in a statement that d4vd 'has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities'.
Police have now identified the body and named 15-year-old Celeste Rivas as the victim.
Rivas was reported missing in April 2024. She was just 13 at the time of her disappearance, as per a missing poster issued at the time. It described her as being 5ft 3 and 120 pounds with brown eyes and dark brown hair.

Rivas was last seen by Lake Elsinore, California.
Her identification comes after the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed last week that the body was a female thought to be around 5ft 2 with wavy black hair, BBC News reports.
The remains, which were not in tact, were also found to have a tattoo on her finger that read 'Shhh'.

Rivas' time and cause of death are yet to be determined but law enforcement believe that the girl may have been dead for an extended period of time.
"At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time," LAPD has said, per NBC News.
