Woman received horrifying four-word text that revealed she accidentally slept with her brother

A woman has revealed the horrific text message she received from her ex-boyfriend, who also turned out to be her half brother.

Victoria Hill spent many years questioning her identity after noticing from a young age that she had no physical resemblance to her dad, and as time went on, she became even more curious, particularly after developing a health issue which neither of her parents exhibited symptoms of.

Deciding to investigate a little further, the 40-year-old, from Connecticut, US decided to take an at-home DNA test, which revealed she had 23 half-siblings.

Further research revealed that her biological father was her mother's fertility doctor, Dr Burton Caldwell, who'd used his own sperm in a number of women's fertility treatment allegedly without their consent.

While that news was understandably a devastating blow for Victoria and her family, the horror continued when she confided in her ex-boyfriend and a close friend about what had happened - and another shocking discovery was made.

Her ex - now a close friend - also had questions upon realizing his own parents had used the same fertility clinic, so he decided to take the test himself and after getting his results, he sent Victoria a shocking text, which read: "You are my sister."

Appearing on UK chat show This Morning, Victoria shared the moment they'd made the grim discovery.

"We figured it out, there was a high school reunion, we started sharing info with close friends and fast forward to a dinner and it was at that time that as I'm telling this story, my high school boyfriend, now friend, looked like he was turning something over in his head," she recalled. "His mother had recently told him that the reason why him and his brother, who is also a really good friend of mine, that his mother went for fertility treatment with his father.

"So we just kind of assumed that she must have gone to the same place."

Her ex then contacted his mother, who 'confirmed that the same doctor had performed the same procedure'.

She continued: "So then it was a waiting game. We sat there in disbelief that this was something we were entertaining. We made jokes, but it felt very surreal.

"Then in a couple of weeks, he sent me the screenshot that you are my sister."

Understandably, Victoria says she is 'traumatized' by the whole ordeal and has now been left questioning who else could really be her sibling.

"It has me look back at my whole high school experience through a totally different lens. It tarnishes the whole thing," she said. "I'll just put it out there: I was intimate with my half-brother."

Victoria ended up confronting Dr Caldwell, who has since passed away, where he 'readily admitted' what he did and claimed he'd did for 'over 20 years'.

When she asked him why he did it, she said he was very 'matter-of-fact' about it, adding: "He said he was in the business of making babies and there wasn't a lot of remorse."
