A private investigator has shared his advice on all things infidelity, including what to do if you suspect the worst in your partner.

While it may sound extreme, some actually turn to hiring a private investigator to do a deep dive into their partner's antics if they suspect that their other half is cheating on them.

With this in mind, PI's like Don Aviv know what kind of behavior traits a cheater may have or begin to show.

"New haircut, new scent or changes in personality," Aviv told Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on 7 News' The Morning Show, adding: "Are they more argumentative? Less argumentative? Distant? Closer? Just anything that’s different than before."

He further questioned: "Are they coming in early? Are they doing anything differently? Are they acting differently towards you? Are they being very secretive about their phones? Are they hiding things that you normally would have a conversation about?"

Elsewhere, Aviv shared his advice on what to do if you want to find out if your partner is being unfaithful.

The answer? Just ask them.

Aviv also suggested doing your own digging, like checking their car or hire someone to carry out a loyalty test.

Explaining what this 'test' is he said: "Loyalty testers are very attractive investigators who whose job is to approach you at a bar, at a restaurant and flirt with you to see how whether you would go home with them."

He did note, however, that this method is 'a bit unfair' and noted that most people would struggle to withstand a highly attractive person hitting on them.

Aviv went on to share that he's found that cheaters can be creatures of habit and will take their side piece to similar places they've taken previous dates.

"They tend to cheat the same way they dated," he shared. "So if there’s a favourite restaurant, flowers, clubs, process in which they wooed you, that’s typically how they’re going to cheat on you with somebody else."

Dating expert Claire Rénier says that there are ways to know if your partner is being unfaithful.

Echoing Aviv's sentiments, she says a change in behavior can be a key sign.

She explained: "There may be patterns emerging that are different to before. For example, if they’re constantly working late, have unexplained absences and are away more frequently without explaining this or talking to you about it, it’s worth a chat."

Being secretive with their devices can also be suspicious, particularly if they'd been quite open about it in the past.
