A private investigator has detailed a whopping 20 signs your partner could be doing the dirty on you.
Finding out your partner is cheating on you is one of the worst things you can hear in a relationship, with several experts over the years putting in their two cents when it comes to the red flags and subtle hints that could indicate someone is two-timing.
But before you accuse your other half of cheating, you're going to want to be sure. I mean, you're going to look a bit silly if you do the accusing and your partner is completely innocent.
So, the advice of a private investigator is welcomed, with Tom Martin detailing his 20 ‘giveaway signs’ in the book, Seeing Life through Private Eyes.

Their are four obvious signs to initially look out for according to Martin, including frequent ‘business trips that may be a cause for concern'. If they've come out of nowhere especially, it's best to keep note.

While fluctuations in how often you’re having sex is pretty normal, Martin claims it could also be a bit of a sign of unfaithfulness.
On top of that, if your partner is getting very defensive, the expert states it could be a red flag that they are hiding something.

Finally, if your partner is spending a longer amount of time at work than usual, it may be best to keep note.
That's not all the signs to look out for, however, as Martin detailed a full list of things to keep an eye on if you’re suspicious of your partner.
These are:
- Sudden change of habits
- Leaving home early and coming back late
- Numerous business trips
- Questionable holiday or family event absences
- A noticeable increase in overtime
- Unexplained spending
- Secret social media accounts
- Hidden credit card bills
- Excessive grooming or self-care
- Smelling like someone else
- Buying presents you haven't seen
- Items that can't be explained - e.g. condoms in the car

- Suddenly joining a gym
- Missed calls from an unknown number
- Text messages that appear coded or secretive
- Less sex
- Evasiveness or defensiveness
- They tell obvious lies
- Having a short temper
- Dislike surprise visits (your unexpected arrival may come at an inconvenient time for a cheater)
While Martin's advice is very useful, he concedes private investigators may be a thing of the past in the years to come as the majority of people will be able to do the digging themselves.

“The game has changed drastically,” Martin told the Independent. “And technology is 100 per cent the reason why.”
