Following Canada voting for its new prime minister, Donald Trump has discussed being a 'big issue' for the country.
Since returning to office earlier this year, Trump made his intentions of making Canada the US' 51st state very clear.
Trump has imposed hiked tariffs on several countries across the globe, with the likes of China, Mexico, and Canada at one point being the worst affected.

But the POTUS gave Canada a so-called 'solution' to the increased taxes — become America's 51st state.
As you can imagine, this suggestion hasn't gone down well with Canadians, and former prime minister Justin Trudaeu publicly condemned the idea even before the country's tariff war with the States.
Speaking in January, Trudeau said, as per BBC News: "I know as a successful negotiator he likes to keep people off balance. The 51st state, it's not going to happen."

And newly-elected prime minister Mark Carney has echoed similar sentiments in a scathing message to Trump.
"As I've been warning for months, America wants our land, our resources, our water, our country — never," Carney said.
"But these are not these are not idle threats, President Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us. That will never, that will never ever happen. But we also must recognize the reality that our world has fundamentally changed."
Now, as Trump marked his 100th day in office, he sat down with ABC News reporter Terry Moran in a somewhat chaotic interview, where the president said the journalist wasn't 'being nice' to him.
Moran asked Trump about how he felt about being a 'big issue' in the recent Canadian election and how they're angry at his suggestion of it becoming the 51st state.

He said: "Many of them are really angry, furious, about your talk about we're going to take over Canada and it's going to become the 51st state."
Trump casually replied: "That's their prerogative."
Moran continued to say that there's been 'repetitional damage' to the US, and that it's affected the country's tourism rates.

"The country's doing great," Trump insisted. "Prices are down, gasoline's down, energy is down, tourism is going to be way up when you see the numbers."
When Moran noted, again, that tourism has actually taken hit, Trump doubled down on America 'doing very well'.
The whole interview ended on a sour note between the pair, with Trump telling Moran that ABC News is 'one of the worst'.
