Mila Kunis admits she told a massive lie to get on That 70s Show

Mila Kunis's breakout role was as Jackie Burkhart in That 70s Show, but to land the gig, the A-lister admitted she told a porkie pie

Mila Kunis scored her breakout role as Jackie Burkhart in That '70s Show in the nineties, but to land the gig, the A-lister admitted she told a rather big porkie pie.

The fib in question has long been run through Hollywood’s rumour mill, but in a new interview, Kunis confirmed the whispers are true and explained why she told the lie.

The star spilled the tea when speaking about the upcoming That 70s Show spin-off, That 90s Show, saying: “I’d like to make it very clear now that I did lie. I did.”

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Kunis was asked if there was any truth to the rumour that she’d faked her age to land an interview for That 70s Show

The actor was just 14 at the time she was cast in the show, and allegedly told producers she was actually 18.

The Ted star explained: “There’s a rumour going around that I may or may not have lied about my age. I’d like to make it very clear now that I did lie. I did.”

She went on: “However, by the time I went to what was then a producer’s network call…you have to sign a contract before you get the job and in my contract I had to put an asterisk for ‘studio teacher’.

“They were like, ‘What do you mean?’ And I was like, ‘Oh P.S., I’m 14.’ But at that point if you talk to the creators, they were like, ‘We loved you at that point so what did we care?'”

Kunis emphasised that everyone knew she was 14 when the show started filming and said she was never treated as ‘lesser’ because of her age.

The A-lister went on: “It was in the heyday of older kids playing younger kids and I was actually of the age of the character.

“I was never treated as lesser then. The reason I don’t do drugs was because nobody on the set did. And I looked up to them at 14.

“The trajectory of my career could’ve gone any which way…but the set was cool.”

Now, for anyone gagging to know more about That '90s Show, it’s going to be set in the summer of 1995 and follow a character called Leia Forman (played by Callie Haverda) as she visits her grandparents.

Leia is the daughter of OG That '70s Show cast members Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon) and Kunis will be popping up at some point.
