Man’s life changed forever after saving baby in stroller from going into street

A homeless man's life changed forever after saving a baby boy from strolling into the busy street

A once-homeless man has described the moment his life changed forever after saving a baby boy in a stroller from heading right into a busy street.

Ronald Nessman said he regained a 'sense of purpose' through his heroic antics.

Check how a good samaritan saved a baby boy below:

Nessman happened to be at a carwash nearby for a job interview for a dishwashing position at the Applebee's when the incident took place.

The video clip shows the man's prompt reaction to a baby stroller rolling into a busy street in Hesperia, California.

Luckily for the woman, who couldn't get hold of the baby stroller being pushed away by the wind, the boy was saved by the man looking for a 'purpose' in his life through good deeds.

"I just looked up and seen a baby stroller getting pushed by the wind and I just took off after it," he told NBCLA.

"And by the time I caught it, it was at the top of the driveway."

Nessman said he was thankful he was at the right place at the right time.

After reuniting the baby boy with his great aunt, Nessman gave her a reassuring hug, and thanked God to be at 'the right place at the right time'.

"She tried everything she possibly could to get up. Her knees were bleeding when I got up to her. She was still shocked and she was crying," he said.

Nessman lost his girlfriend who passed away in 2018, and the grief sent him into deep depression ever since but was supported by his sister, Donna Gunderson all these years.

"It was sudden and I didn't want to do anything," he told the news outlet.

He was homeless for eight years and had been living with his sister for the past three months.

"I decided to get right," he said. "If you want something different in your life, you do something different and that's where I am at today. I thank my sister for helping me out. She's always been there for me."

Luckily, Nessman aced the job interview after confirming that his orientation was due on Friday (yesterday) morning and is due to start on Saturday night.

The baby's great-aunt struggled to get to her feet.

Nessman who couldn't wait to start working thanked the company for placing their trust in him and said: "I'll earn everything I get so with that in mind, you know, I appreciate the opportunity that Applebee's has given me. It's really cool.

"I gotta come to work tomorrow and I can hardly wait to start doing what I do, you know what I mean? It's going to be a good feeling," he said

I am pretty sure you must be thinking, he got hired because of his goodwill but that's not the case.

Emily Canady, the general manager of Applebee's confirmed that the viral video had 'nothing to do with the company's decision to hire Nessman'.

"He's a great guy and he was a great candidate, and he'll definitely fit with us here in Team Victorville at Applebee’s,” Canady said.

Although a GoFundMe page was created on Nessman's behalf requesting donations, he wants to make it clear that he's not seeking money or contributions and is simply grateful for the positive outcome.
