Carrots are delicious, whether raw and crunchy or made into a hearty soup.
But on one day this September, her boyfriend ate carrots for breakfast with eggs and sourdough, for lunch with chicken and broccoli, for a mid-afternoon snack, and with salmon and mashed potatoes for dinner.
This is a lot more than the average person would chow down on them, but it wasn't so much the carrots as why he had eaten them so much which moved her.

In a video shared to TikTok by @hartcaffeine which was viewed some 9.6 million times, she revealed that he had eaten carrots because he was very pale.
Writing a caption over the video, she said: "I'm actually crying. My boyfriend just told me the reason he eats carrots every day is that kids used to bully him for being so pale in third grade."
Many people took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the revelation.
One joked about the belief that carrots can help you to see in the dark, writing: "We see he DOESN’T wear glasses."
Another appeared genuinely curious, asking: "Does this help? Because I constantly get told how pale I am and I am annoyed."
A third wrote: "I mean his parents must have been grateful he loved carrots but its also sad."
Interestingly, there might be something in eating carrots to help get a more tan skin tone.
Foods which have beta cartene can help you to tan without burning, according to Healthline.

So that's things like carrots, kale, and sweet potatoes, though there is still more research needed to establish a link.
If you are planning on going out in the sun then wearing sunscreen is absolutely essential, and it's not one and done either - you have to reapply sunscreen to maintain protection.
However, you should also be wary of eating too many carrots as well as that could change your skin tone in a way that you don't like.
That's because eating too many carrots can lead to carotenosis, yes I know that sounds made-up but it is real.
This is harmless condition which gives your skin a orangey colour if you eat too many foods with carotene.
Fortunately, it is also reversible.
