Fans think Miley Cyrus took swipe at Liam Hemsworth after noticing lyric change during Grammys performance

Miley Cyrus left fans ecstatic as she performed 'Flowers' at the Grammys in a move which many are calling a dig to her ex

Miley Cyrus stunned the world with her performance at the Grammys over the weekend, but some reckon she took a dig at her ex in the process.

This year’s Grammys were a big night for Cyrus, as the pop star was able to take home her first-ever Grammy awards.

The 31-year-old won her first Grammy in the category of Best Pop Solo Performance before returning to the stage to collect the award for Record Of The Year.

The star also performed her hit song 'Flowers’, which delighted fans for a multitude of reasons.

Firstly, they love the song, go figure. But also, because it seemed to take a dig at her former husband Liam Hemsworth and their tumultuous five-year-long relationship.

If the song - about Cyrus realizing her own self-worth and comfortability being by herself - is a dig at Hemsworth normally, her little additions during her Grammys performance may have added fuel to the fire.

She sang, ‘I didn’t want to leave you’ interrupting herself to add ‘But I had to!’. She then sang, ‘I didn’t want to fight’ interrupting again to add, ‘But we did!’, much to the delight of the audience.

She even finished the song’s chorus by changing the lyrics from simply saying “I started to cry, then remembered I can buy myself flowers” to “I started to cry, then remembered I just won my first Grammy!”

Her fans on social media were sent into overdrive over the ad-libs and insisted Hemsworth is probably sitting at home frustrated.

“Miley Cyrus stood up there on stage and said [basically] said F U Liam Hemsworth,” one X user wrote.

“Miley cyrus is so beautiful liam hemsworth is cursing god rn,” another wrote.

“Miley Cyrus flowers lyric change about her first grammy has me BEAMING she just looked so joyful,”

“Liam Hemsworth watching Miley Cyrus win Record Of The Year for "Flowers" knowing that song is about him,” another commented sharing an image of a grumpy child.

Despite the alleged dig, Cyrus was sure to make sure to thank all those she felt helped her get to where she is now in her career during her acceptance speech, praising her fellow artists and people of the world in general.

However, fans spotted a key detail in her speech after someone was notably missing.
