Miley Cyrus shares exact moment she knew marriage to Liam Hemsworth was over

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth divorced in 2020.

Miley Cyrus has revealed the exact moment she knew her marriage to Liam Hemsworth was over.

The Hannah Montana star, 30, has has been keeping fans busy with a TikTok series to promote her new song 'Used to Be Young', while spilling the beans on her past and present relationships.

Watch below as she shares how things ended between her and Liam:

Before Miley came in like a wrecking ball, she rose to fame on Disney series Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011.

In that time, she first met Liam in 2009 on the set of The Last Song.

A year later, the couple unintentionally confirmed their relationship after they were pictured sharing a romantic kiss at the airport.

Their on-and-off relationship eventually stayed 'on' as Liam proposed to Miley in 2012.

"I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," she told People at the time.

Sadly for the 'Liley' fans, the couple called it quits and divorced in 2020.

However, it turns out that Miley knew it was over a year before they divorced after she stepped on stage at Glastonbury 2019.

She said: "The day of the [Glastonbury] show was the day I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship.

"That was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first.

"And I guess now that's why it's so important to me for me to not be the case [anymore]."

In another clip, the 'Flowers' singer recalled the chemistry the two had when they first met: "I think one of the elements that made that movie feel so special was it was watching two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and real life.

"So, the chemistry was undeniable and that was the beginning of a long, 10-year relationship."

Months after the divorce, Cyrus told the Joe Rogan Experience podcast: "What really sucked about it wasn't the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don't love each other the way that we used to anymore.

"That's OK. I can accept that. I can't accept the villainizing and just all those stories."

Cyrus' latest single 'Used To Be Young' is out now.
