The Boys Fans Already Calling For Season 4 After Epic Series 3 Finale

It's been mere hours since The Boys' epic season three finale dropped, and already fans are looking ahead to the next run.

Viewers have been raving about the latest run of Amazon Prime's hit superhero show, with many describing it as the best season yet.

There's been plenty of action, especially with the arrival of the long lost cape wearer Soldier Boy, portrayed by Supernatural star Jensen Ackles.

Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) originally planned to use the former World War II soldier to kill Homelander (Antony Starr).

However, a gigantic spanner was thrown in the works in episode seven with a shock revelation... if you don't want spoilers, look away now.

Anyone who's still reading will know that the shock revelation is that Soldier Boy is Homelander's father. All of this came to a head in the finale, with fans left reeling at the epic conclusion.

Oh, and let's not forget about that penis scene, just one of the many memorable moments that made season three stand out from the others.

Taking to Twitter, people are already looking ahead to the fourth instalment, with one writing: "The Boys keeps getting better every season, easily the best show running atm, can’t wait for season 4."

Another wrote, "Loved it...in fact the whole season was great, can't wait for Season 4," while a third simply said, "I want Season 4 NOW," alongside an angry face emoji.

A fourth added, "Cant get over The Boys ending in both ways. Like dude I need season 4, and also that season finale was so good omg."

The good news is Amazon Prime has already renewed the show, but the bad news is we're going to have to wait a fair while – season three only just finished today, after all.

Speaking about the news, Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studio, said in a statement published by Variety: “From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder."

He described this as an 'impressive feat' considering the success of the second season, adding: "The Boys continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real.

Homelander had a lot going on in season three.

"This stylised world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that.

"We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of The Boys to our customers."

All episodes of The Boys season three are available to stream on Amazon Prime Now.
