Twenty years on from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and you might have been left wondering what Viktor Kurm has been up to over the last two decades...

Goblet of Fire was the fourth instalment in the Harry Potter franchise and saw Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) take part in a wizard tournament against students from different schools.

One such student was Bulgarian Viktor Krum who studied at the Durmstrang Institute. Krum, like Potter, was chosen to take part in the tournament after his name was selected by the Goblet of Fire.

Away from the tournament, you might remember that Krum took Hermione Granger to the Yule Ball at Hogwarts, leaving Ron Weasley rather jaded.

Those who took part in the tournament should have been at least 17 years old, but Potter was picked because the draw was rigged by Barty Crouch Jr. (David Tennant), one of Voldemort's loyal followers.

Undeniably Harry Potter is one of the biggest film franchises to have hit theaters in the 21st century and people are still die-hard fans of the movies (and books, of course) to this day.

With this in mind, a lot of people are keen to keep up with the actors who featured in the films, Krum actor Stan Yanevski included.

The Bulgarian actor got the role almost by accident, after a casting director caught sight of him in a corridor while they were holding auditions at his school and invited him to try out, even though he wasn't a drama student.

He told CBBC's Newsround: "A casting director happened to be there when I was speaking to one of my friends.

"So she heard me and I don't know why, she just turned around and obviously developed some interest.

"Then, she asked me to come to audition later on in the school."

Since Goblet of Fire, Yanevski has starred in gorefest Hostel: Part II, and was the lead in sci-fi thriller The Cloaking.

On Instagram he boasts nearly 300,000 followers and frequently posts content to his page about Harry Potter, fitness and just generally funny videos.

He recently went to Dream It Con alongside fellow Harry Potter alumni Bonnie Wright, David Bradley, and Alfred Enoch.

It's clear Harry Potter is still a big part of Yanevski's life - as it should be - and he recently discussed filming Goblet of Fire and which scene was the hardest to do.

The scene? The underwater ones that were shot as part of the wizard tournament.

"That was filmed mostly underwater," he said on an Instagram Live with Cameo Harry Potter.

Yanevski went on to quip: "I do turn into a shark, which is a natural thing for me when I enter water, but yeah... that was difficult."

"We had to take special training," he added. "We did get diver's certificates."

Yanevski then doubled down on the whole thing being hard, in particular because you have to act natural in the scenes.

Rather him than me!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is currently available to stream in the US on Hulu and HBO Max.
