Taylor Swift shares relatable post-show routine as she offers Stephen Colbert advice on show cancellation

The 'Life of a Showgirl' singer revealed her post-show habits, which help her to switch off after a long day

Taylor Swift has revealed her post-show ritual that helps her unwind, and it’s just as relatable as you might expect.

The 35 year old singer, who turns 36 on Saturday, shared a glimpse into her post-concert routine while appearing on Wednesday night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

After making a dazzling entrance in a bold $1,695 David Koma dress in burgundy velvet, the interview soon kicked off, with talk swiftly turning to Taylor’s phenomenal Era’s tour and her post-show habits.

The singer said: “Every night, I’ll go back to the hotel, get out of the costume, into the bath immediately. It’s mermaid time. And then I get the most amount of room service possible, anything that I happen to want that night.

"And I’ll just be like ‘I’ve got to power up for the three and a half hour show’ – it’s the best!”

After filling up on room service, Taylor then went on to reveal a second habit, which allows her to better focus and relax.

“So then I sign like 2000 CDs, because me doing activity that’s like tactile hand activity – it’s like when I do bread stuff!,” she quipped in reference to her sourdough habit.

“I’ll sign CDs because when I’m doing something with my hands, my kind of profession is coming up with ideas for stuff. So if I can turn off the ideas for a second, it’s very exciting.”

Speaking about the Eras tour and its epic conclusion last year, Colbert went on to quiz Taylor about any tips she might have for the conclusion of his show, which will air its final episode in May after being cancelled by CBS.

“To come down from a two-year tour like that, I’m sure there’s a little bit of transition,” said Colbert. “Any advice for me?”

“For this specific situation, no…,” Swift started, “but I can sort of see from afar that we’re both very passionate, hyperactive people—let’s not say workaholics—so when I take time off, I can’t slow down that need to get up and do a lot of things today. But I can change what those things are.

“I can figure out how to chill out, but I’m never going to be a chill person,” she explained. “I’m a ‘bread girl’ now, or I’m like, ‘This isn’t going to cross-stitch itself!’ Hobbies are kind of incredible.”

Speaking of the cancellation specifically, Taylor then went on to add: “You give everything to this, you love to do a million things to prepare for this, and you give everything to the people that watch. You can give that to your friends and family, your community.”

Swift appeared on the show to promote her upcoming new documentary series, which is now just hours away from being released to fans.

The first two episodes of Swift’s highly anticipated Disney+ series The End of an Era will drop on the streaming platform on Friday December 12, with two new episodes releasing every week until the end of the year.

Split across six episodes in total, the series follows ‘the development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour,’ according to a press release issued to press.

It also promises to give fans an 'intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world'.

Friday will also see the release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show – which, as you may expect, is a concert recording of the ultimate finale to her two-year-long Eras tour.

The collaboration with Disney+ comes just two months after the ‘Ophelia’ singer announced the release of her 12th studio album The Life of A Showgirl on October 3.
