After completing an English Literature with Creative Writing degree at Surrey University, followed by a Masters in International Journalism at Salford University, he began working for the Warrington Guardian as a reporter. Throughout this though, he did freelance work about Film and TV for publications such as DiscussingFilm, looking for any excuse to get to rant about films. He has now finally got that wish.

Netflix is willing to spend huge amounts of money to establish itself as a major player in film, so when you hear something is the most expensive movie on the platform – you know that means big bucks.

Split across two parts, filming of this movie - with part one and two costing $166 million, making it the most expensive production of last year on Netflix.

Part One: A Child of Fire dropped in December of last year, and Part Two: The Scargiver is dropping this Friday (April 19).

Directed by Zack Snyder, the creator of the famed ‘Snyder Cut’ of Justice League, Snyder has previously said that part one of Rebel Moon will be receiving an R-rated ‘Directors Cut’.

In an interview with UNILAD ahead of the release of Part Two, Snyder confirmed an R-rated cut is in the works for the sequel to his Star-Wars inspired Sci-Fi War Epic.

He went on to say that, whilst it’s a different cut of the film, to him it’s almost another movie.

Snyder said: “The way I like to talk about it is that I think the two cuts that are coming are almost like alternative universe cuts more than an extended version.

“Like we call it the Director's Cut. But they're just like another movie.”

Snyder went on to say that, as well as filming Part One and Part Two back-to-back, they also filmed the R Rated Cut, which is not yet released, alongside the PG13 version. You can check out our interview here:

He went on to say: “We planned it while we were shooting, you know, we actually photographed the actors saying different dialogue.

“We knew that we were almost doing a foreign language version. You know, you actually knew as we were filming, like, okay, that's for the R rated."

As expected from a separate R-rated Cut, Snyder said that the main difference will be in adding ‘over the top’ sex and violence to the film, saying it was so 'insane' that you wouldn’t expect it in a big budget sci-fi movie.

He also claims the tone for the R-rated cut is going to be a big change for fans, adding: “The tone of the film changes tremendously, because it's more over the top in like, and purposely over the top [in terms of] the sex and violence.

“It actually colors the movie, as it becomes more of a, I don't wanna say like a parody, but it's more self aware, you know, because the violence is so insane, that you're now like, oh, like it, this is the thing that's, that shouldn't exist in the sci fi movie at this scale.”

Whilst the first film was met with mixed reviews, the R-rated cut for both parts is sure to be a wild ride if it’s everything Snyder says it will be.

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver debuts on Netflix, April 19.
