A new 'funny as f***' comedy has dropped, and it has people thinking about how they never knew they needed it.

Sometimes, we all need something to distract us from the absolute chaos of our own lives, and having a good laugh at some nonsensical scenarios is always a good way to end your day.

And Netflix has no shortage of side-splitting comedies out there, including one about an alien disguised as a human ending up being roped into solving a murder in a sleepy Colorado town or one of the 'craziest' romantic comedies with an unbelievable twist.

But now, a new banger comedy TV series has dropped this week (May 22) and it's all about the absurdity of politics.

Created by Tyler Perry, She the People is making people roll on the floor laughing.

Starring Terri J. Vaughn as Antoinette Dunkerson, the new Lieutenant Governor in Mississippi, who soon realizes after winning her campaign that she may have taken on far too much than she can handle.

Throw in the revelation that her boss, Governor Harper (Robert Craighead), has a few older ideas while her family are trying to adjust to the Deep Southern culture differences…and you’ve got a shocking comedic plot.

You can watch the trailer here:

The first eight episodes of the 16-part season dropped on Thursday (May 22), and since then, fans have been begging for more.

Not only do they want more, but they also want everyone to know just how much they’re missing out on not watching it.

One fan posted on X: “with the LEGENDARY #JoMariePayton in #SheThePeople is what I didn’t know I was lacking on my TV until now!!!”

Another wrote: “She the People on Netflix is funny as f***,” while someone else said: “Y’all watching She The People on Netflix it’s so funny lmfaoo.”

“Yall She The People on Netflix might got me in a chokehold [laughing emojis] episode two only tho this s*** funny,” a fourth user said.

Lastly, a fifth commented: "She the people on Netflix 10/10 lol funny asf."

Even though many people have loved the show so far, it's not without its backlash. On social media, some people criticized its comedic attempts, claiming that they fell flat.

One person wrote: "Tried watching the new Tyler Perry comedy on #Netflix...She The People starring Terri Vaughn. But ain't nothing funny about it," while another simply called it 'horrible'.

However, one viewer has urged people to give it a chance, writing that the comedy takes its time to 'find its footing' after the first couple of episodes, but they praised Vaughn as being 'undeniably the crown jewel'.

According to The Daily Express, eight more episodes of She the People are expected to drop this summer, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
