Netflix viewers are not happy over a series that received the 'Mindhunter treatment' after it concluded on the on ‘most criminal cliffhanger ever’.
The term 'Mindhunter treatment' came about after Netflix canceled the Mindhunter TV series despite receiving incredible reviews for its two seasons on the streaming platform.

And many online believe The Society falls into this category, having never received a season two despite clicking with fans when it released in 2019.
The series follows a group of high school students who return from a canceled field trip to find their town of West Ham, Connecticut, is completely deserted of any adults.
A mysterious forest has surrounded the town, which has cut it off from the rest of the world. It truly is one heck of a ride after the students are left with limited resources to help fend for themselves.
Many are talking about The Society on Reddit after one user wrote: "We all have that one show or movie we loved on Netflix, the one you tell people about constantly, but for some reason, nobody ever seems to give it a shot. So let’s hear it: what’s your underrated favorite?"

While The Society was initially commissioned for a second season, Netflix canceled it alongside I Am Not Okay With This due to challenges faced with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Netflix said in a statement at the time: "We’ve made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This.

While it's disappointing The Society doesn't have a second season, you can watch the incredible first season on Netflix right now.
