Netflix is removing a top-grossing movie from its catalogue this July.

The streaming service regularly switches up its offerings to keep its content fresh.

From releasing Netflix originals to adding epic movies 'not enough' people have seen, there's plenty to keep us entertained.

But the platform removes titles from its inventory every few weeks, too - a move that tends to catch us all out.

It's usually down to licensing deals expiring, although Netflix sometimes pulls its own content, too.

And in a few days, it will be getting rid a hit 2023 movie from its US site.

From creators Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, the star-studded flick has raked in more than $1.4 billon worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo - an eye-watering sum of money.

This makes it the 16th highest-grossing film of all time, with 2009's Avatar still standing strong in first place, with a lifetime gross of $2.9 billion.

The movie in question is, of course, Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Set in the pastel-perfect utopia of Barbieland, every Barbie and Ken lives out a flawless existence.

That's until Stereotypical Barbie (Robbie) begins experiencing existential glitches that signal something is wrong.

Guided by the eccentric Weird Barbie (Kate McKinnon), she stows away to the real world alongside Ken (Gosling).

There, they clash with everyday realities - including the discovery of the patriarchy, which Ken happily imports back to Barbieland.

Confronted by human dilemmas - including self-doubt, compassion and choice - Barbie realizes true fulfilment lies beyond perfection.

A deep dive into the complexities of womanhood, the movie was critically acclaimed for its exploration of expression, gender norms and self-acceptance.

And who can forget the movie's dazzling celebrity cast - which included America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Dua Lipa and Sex Education alumni Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa.

Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Helen Mirren and Will Ferrell rounded out the cast.

If you were hoping for another trip to Barbieland, then you've not got long left to stream it on Netflix; Barbie leaves on Tuesday July 15.

The movie scored a solid 88 percent across 500 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with one hailing it an 'instant classic'.

Its critics consensus reads: "Barbie is a visually dazzling comedy whose meta humor is smartly complemented by subversive storytelling."

In Their Own League's Calum Cooper weighs in: "Add it all up and we get an enchanting explosion of pink cotton candy fun, all of which conceals a deceptively nutritious sociopolitical core."

And Uproxx's Nina Braca adds: "Throw in Billie Eilish’s melancholic tear-jerker and an intentionally butchered pronunciation of The Godfather and the movie was bound to be an instant classic."

Barbie is streaming now on Netflix until Tuesday July 15.
