Netflix subscribers can't get enough of a side-splitting new series they're binging from start to finish in only two days.

From Friends to Modern Family, sitcoms have always been our go-to for effortless laughs and feel-good comfort.

And the latest from Netflix is proving popular, with fans raving about its 'clever' writing and hilarious jokes.

From The Big Bang Theory's Chuck Lorre, the 16-episode series follows Leanne (Leanne Morgan), whose world is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for somebody new.

The show's synopsis continues: "Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Mom's Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places. This heartfelt comedy proves that it's never too late to rewrite your story."

The show has racked up a decent 88 percent Rotten Tomatoes score from fans, while critics gave it 71 percent.

Bear in mind, the professionals only awarded Friends a 78 percent, so that's pretty good going...

The TV series in question is simply titled Leanne, and it released via Netflix on July 31.

One enthusiastic viewer took to the r/Netflix community on Reddit and asked: "Has anyone else seen the show Leanne on Netflix?

"I'm watching it and it is so funny and clever. I'm surprised no one else has talked about it."

"I haven't laughed so hard at a sitcom or even a movie comedy as I did watching Leanne," a fellow fan responded.

"Supporting cast is excellent; and of course anything Kristen Johnson is in is going to be fantastic."

"Same! I laughed so hard!" the original poster replied.

"It’s such an easy watch. A good, classic sitcom," somebody else weighed in.

"I binged it all in two nights!" another fan said. "I love it! Great characters too!" Another admitted: "I'm on my third re-watch already!"

But there was one issue some viewers couldn't seem to get over.

"Cute show, but they can tone down the laughing track," one viewer remarked, as a second reckoned the laugh track made it 'difficult to watch'.

Others claimed they didn't even notice the sitcom trope.

Will there be a second season of Leanne?

Netflix is yet to order up a second helping of the light-hearted comedy.

But the Leanne cast and crew are optimistic, as Morgan told TV Insider she hopes it goes for a second seasons.

“Whether it’s romantic or a job... Leanne tended to her family all of her life, put everybody else first," Morgan added.

"I want people to see what she’s gonna do [next]."

Co-star Johnston affirmed that the show is 'definitely set up to hopefully continue,' teasing 'some really big payoffs' would be on the way if so.

All 16 episodes of Leanne are streaming now on Netflix.
