'Won't get any movies like these anymore'

A pair of 'modern classics' are coming to Netflix - including a first instalment dubbed the ‘perfect 90s movie’.

We're rapidly approaching a new month - so, peak time for the streaming service to reshuffle its digital library of 7,000 titles.

Every few weeks or so, Netflix pulls dozens of movies and TV series from its platform.

The move catches most of us off guard, but fear not, here's a list of the 132 titles disappearing in August.

The revamp allows space for new additions, including this Leonardo DiCaprio film hailed 'the GOAT of cinema'.And turns out, a couple more 'timeless' movies are joining it too.

Chances are, you'll have seen them before - but you're guaranteed to want to re-watch them, at least if the movies' reviews are anything to go by...

The coming-of-age flicks in question boast a stellar line-up, including Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Alyson Hannigan and Natasha Lyonne.

I imagine you've guessed what I'm referring to already...

The first film follows a group of high school seniors navigating the challenges of adolescence, relationships and, urm, sexual awakening.

It centers on Jim Levenstein (Biggs) and his three close friends - Oz (Klein), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) and Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) - who make a deal to lose their virginity before they graduate.

They each have their own hilarious - and at times, excruciating - hurdles to work through as they attempt to make their dream a reality.

The second instalment revisits the friends a year on, the summer after their first year of college.

Of course, we're talking about 1999's American Pie and 2001's American Pie 2.

According to What's On Netflix, both movies are set to join the US platform on Friday August 1.

The two films combined racked up a lifetime gross of almost $250 million, according to figures from Box Office Mojo.

Not only did American Pie 2 take a larger slice of cash at the box office, but it scored higher with viewers than the original, too.

Turns out, Rotten Tomatoes users awarded American Pie an average score of 61 percent, while American Pie 2 won an average of 68 percent.

But critics actually preferred the original, rating the first 62 percent and the second just 51 percent.

Fans hailed American Pie the 'perfect 90s movie' as one said who'd just finished up a rewatch remarked: "It's a modern classic, won't get any movies like these anymore."

A second weighed in: "11/10, absolutely loved it," as a third social media user summarized: "Unhinged and so funny."

There was love for American Pie 2 as well, as one fan typed: "A worthwhile sequel that stays true to the original while adding its own levels of humor and comedy. This time, there is more room for character growth, which, fortunately, adds the the film."

"Another awesome 90's move that has withstood the test of time," a second said, as a third wrote: "All time classic - a great follow up, maybe even better the first."

Both American Pie and American Pie 2 join Netflix US on Friday, August 1.
