Netflix subscribers 'addicted' to 100% rated Jeremy Allen White show

Viewers called it 'a triumph of American television'

Netflix subscribers have dubbed a TV series starring Jeremy Allen White as the 'most addictive' show they’ve ever watched.

The series ran for 11 instalments, with some seasons racking up a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

It comes as Allen White fans got a first glimpse of the actor as Rotta the Hutt in the new The Mandalorian and Grogu movie.

Disney dropped a new trailer for the Jon Favreau-directed film on Monday (September 22), which also stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver and Jonny Coyne.

Away from his hit culinary show The Bear, Allen White starred in a Showtime series hailed as 'a masterpiece of intelligent screenwriting and chaos.'

The US drama is based on a British show of the same name.

Set in the fictional Chicago neighborhood of Canaryville, it follows a dysfunctional family: patriarch and alcoholic Frank Gallagher (The Dropout's William H. Macy), and his many children, with the eldest daughter, Fiona (Mystic River's Emmy Rossum), trying to hold things together.

Allen White portrays Lip Gallagher, while Happy Gilmore 2's Ethan Cutkosky is Carl Gallagher and The Conners' Emma Kenney stars as Debbie Gallagher.

Rounding off the man cast is Gotham's Cameron Monaghan as Ian Gallagher and Found's Shanola Hampton as Veronica Fisher

The show in question ran for 11 seasons, between 2011 and 2021 - that's 134 episodes to get stuck into!

We're talking about, of course, Shameless, which is available to stream in its entirety on Netflix US.

Overall, it racked up a respectable 82 percent from both Rotten Tomatoes critics and viewers.

Some seasons performed better than others, though; seasons two, four, six and eight all achieved perfect, 100 percent scores from critics, while season 10 scored the lowest, at 20 percent.

One fan admitted: "At first... the plot seemed bizarre, and unbelievable," but they were soon converted, saying of the show: "I had never seen anything like it.

"...It was dynamic and worth the time. The young actors soon found their roles and by the fifth episode I found myself thinking about the show every day."

They continued: "Now I cant stop watching. I'm addicted. The actors are fantastic. The plots are far more developed. The supporting players play a big part in the series, and new characters keep rotating in flawlessly. The show has evolved."

A second labeled it 'a triumph of American television,' as a third said: "This is by far the most addictive TV show that I've ever watched."

A fourth social media user wrote: "My favorite thing about Shameless is the writing. You can tell the writers did their homework on what Southside Chicago life can look like. Phenomenal storytelling along with extremely talented actors creates 11 seasons worth binging."

According to What's on Netflix, Shameless US is scheduled to leave Netflix on October 11, 2026.

While you've got plenty of time, then, to get binging, it's still worth getting a move on.
