Netflix subscribers have been left confused by the title of its new Lamar Odom documentary.

The feature-length doc gives viewers an insight into the life of the former NBA player, chronicling his struggles and near-death experience in October 2015 when he was found unresponsive at a brothel outside Las Vegas.

Netflix’s film features previously unheard interviews and accounts of the incident as well as testimonies from Odom, his ex-wife Khloé Kardashian and the former manager of the brothel.

The documentary, titled Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, premiered on the streaming platform today (March 31).

However, the title has sparked concern among viewers who initially believed Odom had died because of the formatting of the title, which includes 'The death'.

Some fans ran to social media to search ‘is Lamar Odom dead?', with one writing on social media: “The dude is not dead... wtf?!?"

Another confused viewer asked: “Why they said the death and life of the Lamar Odom like he's dead.”

And a third wrote: “Hell nah... the title of this documentary is a mindf**k... I thought he died... I quickly jumped on Google to see when."

A quick search on Google even shows a spike in people searching about Odom and his supposed death.

Thankfully, Odom is not dead and the film’s title is simple referring to his near-fatal drug overdose in 2015.

Kardashian filed for divorce from Odom in December 2013, but eventually called it off after he was hospitalized following a near-fatal drug overdose.

When the ex-NBA player was found unconscious at a brothel in Nevada, Kardashian rushed to be by his side. She chose to 'pause' the divorce after this happened so that she could care for Odom.

He suffered kidney failure, 12 strokes and six heart attacks, and had to be placed in a medically induced coma for several days.

Doctors had little confidence that he would recover and Odom says his family were advised to say their final goodbyes.

Once he recovered, Kardashian, who helped care for Odom, restarted the divorce proceedings and they were finalized in 2016.

Once Odom was discharged from hospital following his overdose, his estranged wife rented him a property near her home in Calabasas for him to stay in. She also hired a chef and caretaker.

Kardashian features in the tell-all show and recalls some of the hardest times during their marriage, including when his drug use became a 'dark situation'.

"He would escape rehab and go on a drug bender and no one could find him," she said.

Kardashian continued: "I was either looking for him in alleys, looking for him in motels.

"I remember needing to go to hotel rooms to clean up after him so housekeeping didn’t sell a story... I felt such a responsibility to cover this up, hold it together, and protect him."
