Miles Teller has alluded to a specific individual who was responsible for why the 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four was a box office flop.
At the time there had already been one successful series of films made from the characters, who would not feature in early phase Marvel Cinematic Universe films as Marvel did not have the rights to the characters, instead building up the Avengers for the MCU.
The Fantastic Four are made up Mister Fantastic, The Thing, The Human Torch, and the Invisible Woman, and are one of the most widely-known Marvel superhero teams.
So it made sense that a reboot would work, with Teller playing Mister Fantastic, alongside Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch, Kate Mara as the Invisible Woman, and Jamie Bell as The Thing.

But despite the characters' popularity the movie proved to be a box office flop, with a planned sequel subsequently cancelled.

Speaking on Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, Teller said: “It’s unfortunate for that [film], because so many people worked so hard on that movie."
In a tease, the actor added: "And honestly, maybe there was one really important person who kind of f***ed it all up.”
But as for who this person was, Teller would not go into any specifics about the name.
However, he did make it clear that it was nothing to do with the casting of the movie, calling his fellow cast members 'spectacular'.
Teller explained that superhero movies were becoming a way for actors to secure a reputation as a leading man or woman.
He said: “As a young actor at that time, it’s like, ‘Alright, if you want to be taken seriously as a leading man, you got to get on this superhero train.’ That was our chance.
“And the casting, I thought, was spectacular. I love all those actors.”

But things then changed, with Teller saying: “When I first saw the movie, I remember talking to one of the studio heads and said, ‘I think we’re in trouble.’”
Of the cast, Michael B. Jordan would go on to take on another role, this time in an MCU movie.
Jordan would take on the role of antagonist Killmonger in 2018's Black Panther, a character who is critical of the fictional nation of Wakanda's lack of intervention to prevent the enslavement of black africans in the Americas and the continued racist mistreatment.
Wait, why is he the villain again?
After several films outside the MCU, the Fantastic Four are now coming into an official Marvel film with a movie set for release this year.
