Harry Potter bosses address reports of brand new The Cursed Child film involving all three main stars

The original cast had been rumoured to be in talks to the latest instalment of the franchise.

Over a decade after the last Harry Potter film was released, it's been rumoured that a new instalment was being added to the Wizarding World.

After it’s success in West End, it was reported that executives were in talks to develop a film based on the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child show – with the original film cast involved.

The new adaptation would have follow the original trio 19 years on from the event at the Battle of Hogwarts but unlike the characters, you won’t need a time turner to find out what is going with this latest film.

Warner Bros executive David Zaslav had previously how ‘profitable’ the original film series was and that he hoped to focus on the franchise more in the future.

In addition, Warner Brothers currently own the rights to the Cursed Child and the original cast of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson would be the right age for the film.

Sadly though, a Warner Brothers spokesperson has said the reports are 'false', when they spoke to The Mirror.

Warner Brothers has been hesitant to make another film, after the controversy surrounding Johnny Depp’s appearance in the Fantastic Beasts series - which saw the actor depart the franchise.

Add to that poor box office sales and it seems that the Cursed Child film may struggle to get off the ground – much like Ron’s poor Ford Anglia.

In fact, Daniel Raddcliffe has explicitly stated that he feels ‘weird’ about returning to his iconic role nearly a decade on.

“This isn’t the answer that anybody’s going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy it [the recent Harry Potter reunion] because it’s not a part of my day-to-day life anymore,” he explained to The New York Post.

The actor continued, saying: “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter OK and I’m really happy with where I am now – going back would be such a massive change to my life.”

However, don’t break out the polyjuice potion just yet as he did tease: “I’m never going to say never…The Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, it’s only been 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now.”
