The first trailer for the new That '70s Show reboot is finally here and fans are frothing over the first glimpses of what our favourites characters have been up ton the decades since.

The revival, named That '90s Show, because a new decade means a new name, will see another gaggle of teens set themselves up in Red and Kitty's basement for some hilarious hi-jinx.

And, as the name suggests, it'll be set in he '90s and will focus on Red and Kitty's granddaughter, the daughter of Eric and Donna, coming to stay with them for the summer.

Leia Forman - named after the Star Wars character because her dad is Eric, is out to reinvent herself over the school break in 1995.

She convinced her parents to let her stay with her grandparents for the summer break. And the rest? You'll have to tune in to see.

Fans have taken to social media with mixed feelings about the reboot.

One social media user said: "As a lifelong die hard That 70’s Show fan, this doesn’t look good. But seeing a lot of the original cast return will be fun so I’ll give it a watch."

Another added: "I’m willing to give it a try but I wouldn’t have minded if it focused fully on Kitty and Red."

A third raised fears for the revival: "My heart wants to love this but my brain is screaming NOOOO."

    But don't fret.

Obviously, it's not going to be a word-for-word copy of the original. But fans will see things both old, like Red, and new, as in fresh adventures.

But seriously, Netflix has assured fans there'll still be some familiarity for exisiting fans, with the trailer showing Kitty and Red, played by Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, in their kitchen, where they were seen so many times while berating Eric throughout the years in That '70s Show.

The trailer opens with Red dancing - yes, you read that correctly - with Kitty in the kitchen moments before a horde of teens descend upon them.

    Some things never change.

Original That '70s Show cast members Topher Grace (Eric), Laura Prepon (Donna), Wilmer Valderrama (Fez), Ashton Kutcher (Michael) and Mila Kunis (Jackie) will all turn up as guests at one point or another during the series.

Danny Masterson who played Steven will be absent as he faces down a court trial and three rape charges.

That '90s Show drops on January 19, 2023 on Netflix.
