Film fans are comparing an upcoming Blue's Clues movie to Spider-Man: No Way Home after Paramount announced the children's film this week.

After successfully entertaining young children for years with her clues and challenges, Blue the animated dog is set to take to on a new environment in a film titled Blue's Big City Adventure.

It comes as Paramount seeks to increase the amount of family friendly content on its Paramount+ app, which launched last year and already hosts a number of much-loved kids' shows such as Paw Patrol, Dora, and Baby Shark.

The title of the upcoming film indicates Blue will be stepping out of her comfortable, familiar home to take on the big city, though she is set to be joined by not only Josh and Joe but also her original companion Steve, in a crossover which has prompted some fans to compare the film to the recent Marvel flick, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

A promo image for the film shows Steve, Josh, Joe and Blue standing in a street and looking up in awe, with a Starbucks in the background indicating their new city surroundings.

One fan shared the news of the new film and wrote, 'blue’s clues having their spider-man no way home moment', while another commented: 'So Spider-Man [No Way Home] but BLUE’S CLUES??? HELL YEAH.'

No Way Home sees all three Peter Parkers, played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, come together to tackle their respective villains after a spell cast by Doctor Strange brings their universes together.

While there might not be any mysterious magic involved in the Blue's Clues movie, the film will similarly unite three people who have all taken on the same role as Blue's carer.

Steve Burns acted as the first host of Blue's Clues in the series from its inception in 1996 until his character 'left for college' in 2002. The role was then taken on by Donovan Patton, who played Steve's brother, Joe, before Nickelodeon debuted the latest version of the franchise, Blues Clues and You, in 2019.

This time, Joshua Dela Cruz took on the role of Steve and worked alongside Joe’s cousin, Josh, as Blue's companion.

Ramsey Naito, President of Nickelodeon Animation, described Blue's Clues as 'hands down one of the most successful and critically acclaimed preschool TV shows in history' in a statement cited by Comicbook.

He added: 'We're so proud that Nickelodeon has been its home for the last 25 years. The series' creativity, interactivity, and inclusivity has stood the test of time and we are continuing to empower, challenge, and build the self-esteem of a new generation of preschoolers with a brand-new Blue's Clues & You! movie and multiple upcoming seasons of the series in our Animation Studio pipeline.'

Paramount has not yet revealed a release date for Blue's Big City Adventure, but the appearance of all three hosts is sure to unite fans of all ages.
