Tom Cruise gave a rather strange response when asked about Father’s Day that has got people questioning his relationship with his children.
Tom Cruise remains one of the biggest names in Hollywood and for good reason, as the star has been giving the world entertaining and intense action films for decades.
While being interviewed on the red carpet for his latest film Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning in New York on May 19, Cruise made it clear just how much he still enjoys making films.

Speaking to E! he discussed his love of doing real-life stunts and how he hopes the latest entry in the Mission Impossible franchise will resonate with fans.

It was pretty clear that Cruise was in the zone when it came to promoting the film, but one question seemed to catch him off guard.
At the end of the interview Cruise was asked what an ideal Father’s Day would look like for him and gave a seemingly nonsensical answer.

While stuttering he replied: “Hey, you know, just having fun man. Making movies, big adventure, having a great time.”
This immediately raised some eyebrows on social media and from his answer you would be forgiven for thinking Cruise doesn’t actually have any children.
While it is entirely possible Cruise was simply running on auto-pilot and focused solely on promoting the film, many people expected him to mention his three children.
One Twitter user commented: “That Tom Cruise Red Carpet moment when they ask him about Father’s Day is kind of chilling. Guy completely short circuits, starts spitting out default phrases.”

Another said: “He forgot he was a dad there for a sec.”
With a third adding: “Mr. Eye Contact completely starts uttering autopilot responses while looking around. It’s funny and sad.”
And another wrote: “I can’t get over that interview clip of Tom Cruise being asked about his ideal Father’s Day and he responds with ‘making movies’.”

Cruise has three adult children, the adopted Bella and Connor who he had with his first wife Nicole Kidman and his third and youngest child Suri who he had with ex-wife Katie Holmes.
Not much is known about any of the children as they appear largely private about their lives but there is often debate as to how involved Cruise is in his daughter Suri's life.
Suri caught headlines in the summer of 2024 when she graduated from high school but was listed as Suri Noelle rather than Cruise.
With that said, Cruise has never outright said what his relationship is like with his children, meaning people will likely continue to speculate.
