There are probably no good ways to have diarrhea, but comedian Margaret Cho has shared potentially the worst situation in which you could possibly feel a sudden pressure down below - when you're on stage wearing a white outfit.

Cho shared the truly sickening story of how she found herself squatting backstage as the curtain fell on the How to Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, where she recalled the moment she 'couldn’t control' her bowels in front of an audience.

The 57-year-old actor and comedian said she was 'disgusted' with herself following the accident, which happened when she started taking an unspecified weight loss pill to slim down.

"I started … taking these drugs that would remove the fat from the food that you ate," she shared on the show, adding that it turned the fat into a substance resembling the 'pepperoni grease that you blot on top of a pizza.'

This greasy substance proved Cho's undoing while she was 'killing it' during a comedy set, where she was unfortunately wearing an all-white 'dress and pants combination'.

But while she had the crowd right where she wanted them, the diet pills were about to have the last laugh.

She shared: "It was starting to come out because it was all oil. It was just grease because it was fat. I started spurting orange grease out of my a**hole."

And there was no stopping the greasy orange torrent once it started, even if she still had to close the set. She continued: “I ended the show while the s**t [was] coming out.

“I got a standing ovation, they wanted an encore, [and] all I could do was back out of view through the curtains.”

Thankfully, there was no one backstage and she did not have to turn around and show the audience that the show had been a total blowout. But oddly, for an anecdote about having diarrhea, it only became more gross when the curtain closed.

Cho said she then 'squatted on the ground' in order to 'alleviate the cramping' while the crowd was still cheering her set.

After she had voided the 'orange oil' filling how bowels that 'might have smelled like **t,' she ran out of the venue, fearing that she had left 'too much evidence'.

The 30 Rock star recalled jumping in her car as the crowd jeered for more, but for Cho, the encore would take place as she drove away from the scene of the crime.

She shared on the podcast: "As I drove away, I had a huge orange oil stain in the front seat of my car that I could not get out. I had to just get a new car."

Even though she felt a great deal of shame and disgust at the time, with the incident leaving her in tears, Cho said she has learned to see the funny side of the predicament and learned a lesson from the car-ruining diarrhea incident - she never touched a weight loss pill again.
