One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson called one celebrity a 'horrible, horrible little f***er' after their infamous interview with his ex-bandmate, Liam Payne.
On October 16 2024, Payne died after falling from his balcony on the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he had been staying.
A UK inquest into the 31-year-old's death ruled his cause of death as 'polytrauma', meaning multiple traumatic injuries. Five individuals were initially arrested in the wake of Payne's death; however, Argentinian authorities have since dropped manslaughter charges against one of his friends and two hotel staff members.
After Payne's passing, his former One Direction bandmates issued a joint tribute, calling him their 'brother, who we loved dearly'.

Just days after his death, Tomlinson wrote his own heartfelt note to his friend online, where he spoke about their friendship, calling him 'a positive, funny, and kind soul'.

A year after Payne's passing, Tomlinson opened up in an interview with The Independent, where he revealed his distaste for Logan Paul, who interviewed the 'Slow' singer in 2022.
The YouTuber's chat with Payne on his Impaulsive podcast was nothing short of disastrous, as the singer made numerous claims about his former bandmates, such as that they 'hated each other,' which earned him the ire of social media users.

In 2023, Payne later apologised, saying that the interview was a 'life-changing' moment that led him to seek help in rehab, as he said: "I became somebody I didn’t really recognise anymore and I’m sure you guys didn’t either."
In his interview with The Independent, Tomlinson was asked about this interview, to which he responded: “I f***ing forever despise [Logan Paul], horrible, horrible little f***er.”
Claiming there’s a 'problem with some of this new ‘media’ journalists, he continued: "I think that's also the problem with some of this new 'media'. I would like to think most journalists… some journalists have a duty of care."

The singer was also asked about Payne's claim that One Direction was made around him, and Tomlinson confirmed it, as he said: "It was, definitely. It was definitely a role that was assigned to him. That is the truth."
He went on to describe Payne as being an important part of the band, something which he also said in his tribute, as he told the outlet: "In between him playing that role and also doing a huge chunk of the songwriting… it’s not even up for debate."
Elsewhere, Tomlinson also told The Diary Of A CEO podcast in October that Payne had wanted One Direction to reunite; however, he added that his passing had now 'completely put a pin in' that ever happening.
