It's been revealed that we're all mispronouncing Oscar-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst's name.
Best recognised for playing Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Peggy Blumquist in Fargo season 2 and Marie Antoinette in Sofia Coppola's eponymous historical drama, the 43-year-old recently told Town & Country Magazine all about this no-longer irritating aspect of her life.
During the interview, Dunst claimed that basically all English folk she comes across get her first name wrong, as well as the Swedish and Hungarian crew from her latest job on The Entertainment System Is Down.
"Everyone messes up my name, so I give up, I don't care," she laughed.

Apparently, she gets called everything from 'Kris-tin' to 'Ker-sten' and 'Keer-sten', the latter being accurate.
"In England they don't really say my name right," said the star. "On the last set everyone said my name wrong, but there was like Swedish people and people from Hungary, and you just give up."

So there you have it, if you're ever about to cross paths with the Hollywood favourite out on the street, make sure to address her as 'Keer-sten'.
Remembering 'Keir Starmer' might even be helpful in memorising it... or not.
As it happens, Dunst is far from the first celebrity to complain of inaccurate name pronunciations.
Wednesday's Jenna Ortega was previously praised for setting the record straight on 'Rihanna', while Demi Moore has also surprised her fanbase with a personal insight.

Poor Things and Superbad star Emma Stone, however, has faced a completely different situation when it comes to her name.
First thing's first: her name isn't even Emma.

The star's real name was discussed via The Hollywood Reporter alongside fellow The Curse cast member Nathan Fielder.

"Before we continue, I’d like to say something. Her name’s Emily, but she goes by Emma professionally," said Fielder. "So when there’s people that don’t know her, I end up saying Emma. But I’m going to just say Emily from here on."
Stone was then asked if anyone in Hollywood refers to her by Emily, to which she replied: "When I get to know them, people that I work with do. It’s just because my name was taken [by another actress in the Screen Actors Guild]. Then I freaked out a couple of years ago. For some reason, I was like, 'I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.' Nathan calls me Em, which is easier."
Stone added that it would be 'so nice' to go by Emily out on the street amongst fans.
