People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal, more commonly known as PETA, has slammed Kim Kardashian after she gifted her children puppies for Christmas.
In a social media post, the reality TV star revealed that North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six, all received a dog.
"Each kid got a puppy,” Kim wrote alongside clips of the Pomeranian puppies, who could be seen excitedly running around while settling into their new mansion.
Kim also shared close-up shots of each dog, including one sporting a red bow tie.

Many fans were not impressed by Kim's choice of gift for her kids, which sparked a debate online.
"They treat animals like monopoly. Like yeah they’re really cute but,” one person commented, while another said: "They are running out of things to buy since they have and get anything they want year round."

Others expressed their concern for the dogs, with someone adding: "Poor dogs. I hate how they treat animals as accessories or toys."
PETA, the world's biggest animal rights organisation, has even had their say with Ingrid Newkirk, the company's founder slamming Kim and sister Khloe Kardashian, who also got a new dog for the Christmas.
"Puppies are not plushies, and it’s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that," he told the Daily Mail.
"Ignoring the homeless animals crisis is inexcusably callous, and so we ask Kim and Khloe, who did the same thing, to call PETA or a local shelter the next time they want to bring an animal into their home—and try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis."

It's not the first time PETA have called out Kim, as the animal rights group criticised the model in January 2023 after she shared a video of her dogs in a cage within the garage.
The body told Page Six: "Knowing that Kim Kardashian is anti-fur and mostly vegan, we are hoping hard that she does not relegate her dogs to life in a garage.
“What PETA does know is that dogs are highly social pack animals who need more than just soft beds and decorative stockings.
"They deserve to feel safe, loved, and to live inside the house as part of the family.”
UNILAD has contacted Kim Kardashian's representatives for comment.
