Body language expert claims Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck still have ‘love for one another’ in red carpet appearance amid divorce
A body language expert has weighed in on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s red carpet reunion, claiming the former couple still have ‘love for one another’ despite divorce proceedings concluding earlier this year.
On their second wedding anniversary, J-Lo, 56, filed from divorce from the Batman actor, officially citing April 26, 2024, as their separation date.
The couple, who were previously engaged in 2002 after a whirlwind romance, rekindled their relationship in July 2021 and said ‘I do’ in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony in April 2022.
Despite their break-up, the 'Let’s Get Loud' singer and Affleck, 53, remain amicable, with the latter recently attending the film premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring his ex-wife.

The father of two produced the musical movie via his Artists Equity company.
The New York City event marked Lopez and the Good Will Hunting icon’s first public appearance together since finalizing their divorce in January.
The former couple posed for photographs together on the red carpet, where Affleck admitted it was a ‘no-brainer’ to cast his former flame as the titular character in Kiss of the Spider Woman.
“I knew that Jennifer was dying to play a part like this her whole life. I knew she’d be spectacular,” he shared. “Bill Condon [director and writer] understands how to do this as well as anyone.
“I just can’t wait for you, the audience, to see the movie. I’m as proud of this movie as any that I’ve ever been involved with. I’m really excited to be here tonight.”
Relationship expert and co-founder of dating tool So Syncd, Louella Alderson, has analyzed snaps of Lopez and Affleck on the red carpet.
Teaming up with Mecca Bingo, she remarked on how the exes looked ‘incredibly comfortable with each other’ and that there appeared to be ‘no lingering tension or resentment’.
“Their body language, as they turn toward each other and stand close, reveals a level of trust and attraction that hasn’t completely faded,” Alderson continued.
Referring to an image that saw Lopez listening to her fourth husband, she explained: "The way Jennifer is listening intently to Ben and giving subtle encouraging nods and smiles, even turning her ear directly towards him so she can hear more, are clear indications that she genuinely cares about him and is interested in what he has to say."
"This interaction shows two exes with a deep history who seem to have settled into an easy, friendly connection that feels natural and unforced," the expert added.
"It’s likely that they still have a lot of respect and love for one another; they just couldn’t make their marriage work."
Lopez previously explained that her and Affleck’s divorce had ‘changed her’ as a person, helping her ‘grow’.
“It was a really tough time,” she said, describing what it was like to film the 1976 novel adaptation amid the end of her marriage, as per The Independent.
“Every moment on set, every moment I was doing this role, I was so happy, and then it was like, back home, it was not great. And it was just like, ‘How do I work inside of this?’”
Social media has been weighing in on the Benifer reunion, with one taking to X to write: “The respect they have for each other after all.”
Another claimed they ‘loved to see exes getting along’ while a third typed: “This wasn't on my bingo card last night…”
“He just can't quit the Jennifers. Bro, there are other women in the world,” said a fourth X user.
Someone else commented: “Before I judge I must reflect on how many times I’ve done this.”
Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Lopez, Star Wars’ Diego Luna, and Tonatiuh, is slated for an October 10 release in the United States.
The flick has a solid 83 percent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, with one reviewer calling it a ‘cinematic experience waiting to be cherished’.
