Fans want Zac Efron to play He-Man next after seeing trailer for his next film

They reckon he's a shoo in for the role now that he's jacked.

Fans have been blown away by Zac Efron's body transformation for his upcoming film.

The Hollywood star is sporting an interesting haircut and a ripped physique in The Iron Claw, where he plays a real-life wrestler.

The movie centres on the Von Erich family, who were a dynasty of wrestlers from the 1960s onwards.

Efron plays Kevin Von Erich in the A24 movie and is joined on screen by Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Stanley Simons, who play brothers Kerry, David and Mike.

Now that the trailer for the movie has finally been released, people reckon Efron is a shoo in for a much bigger role.

One viewer said: "If The Iron Claw trailer shows us anything, it's that Zac Efron would make a pretty good live-action He-Man in a Masters Of The Universe movie."

Another added: "I NEED ZACK EFRON AS HE-MAN RIGHT NOW."

A third wrote: "Hey Hollywood if you ever wanted to do a New He-man Masters of the Universe movie. Now's your chance with Zac Efron JACKed up like he is in The Iron Claw.

There has already been a Masters of the Universe movie and it was released all the way back in 1987.

It had Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, Frank Langella as Skeletor and Courteney Cox as Julie Winston.

There have been whispers in Hollywood since the mid-2000s about rebooting the movie franchise.

People have been brought in to write the script for the follow-up film, but there have been delays and new directions taken.

Noah Centineo confirmed in 2019 that he would play He-Man in a Masters of the Universe movie, however the project was pulled from Sony's release schedule the following year.

Netflix

Last year, Netflix acquired the rights from Sony and revealed that Kyle Allen (The In Between) would play He-Man.

Filming was set to begin this year, however it's unclear whether the project was affected by the actors and writers strike.

So, it looks like we won't get to see Efron as He-Man any time soon.

However, fans are still super excited to see him in The Iron Claw.

"This looks incredible. I literally got chills and my eyes started to water slightly just watching this trailer. I never really knew too much about the Von Erich's growing up but I watched the Dark Side Of The Ring episode about their family and it was brutal. Zac Efron looks like a Von Erich and it is awesome to see him get a role like this and own it. I am both excited and nervous to watch this film," said one viewer.

Another added: "This is such a loud trailer with such sad emotions! I love it. The voice change, the acting looks spectacular! Gonna be a great but depressing movie to watch during Christmas but I am gonna do it anyway!"

The movie will drop on December 22.
