Dick Van Dyke has amassed a staggering fortune for his work spanning the decades.
The Missouri-born Hollywood TV star began his career as an entertainer on the radio and TV, after being turned away from US military service due to being underweight during the first world war.
Then, as he said in an interview in 2018, 'one thing led to another' as he made his Broadway debut in Bye Bye Birdie, snowballing him to secure his own CBS series, The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s.
He then landed his iconic role as the cockney chimney sweep, Bert, in the Disney movie musical, Mary Poppins, in 1964, followed by Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and several others, accumulating several accolades along the way until being a crowned a Disney Legend in 1998.

Now, the beloved actor is celebrating turning 100 years old as of Friday (December 13), some eight decades of which he's worked in the entertainment industry.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Van Dyke's eye-watering net worth sits at a hefty $50 million.
It's unsurprising considering the father-of-four is the proud owner of four Primetime Emmy Awards, two daytime Emmys, one Grammy and a Tony, and a Kennedy Center Honors as well as recognition in the Television Hall of Fame.
In celebration of hitting the century mark, Van Dyke sat down with Good Morning America to talk about his remarkable life and work in television.
"You know I played old men a lot. And I always played them as angry, and cantankerous," he said. "It's not really that way. I don't know any other 100-year-old, but I can speak for myself."
Reflecting on his career, he said: "If I'm not enjoying myself, I'm really bad," as per The Mirror US.

"It's such a blessing to find a way of making a living that you love, that you'd do for nothing. I feel so sorry for people who hate their jobs. I look forward to going to work every morning."
Career aside, he also credits his young wife, 54-year-old Arlene Silver, for the spring in his step, and getting to the gym three times a week.
Dubbing his wife, with whom he tied the knot with in 2012, a 'health nut', he said he's also 'so lucky' not to have any aches or pains at his old age.
"She kept me young," he said. "She gives me energy, she gives me humor, and all kinds of support."
And Van Dyke doesn't plan on giving up on his pursuit of youth either, telling the outlet how he will continue to preserve his health in the years to come.
"The funniest thing is, it's not enough," he said about turning 100. "A hundred years is not enough. You wanna live more, which I plan to."
