It’s fair to say that the bruised relationship between Sex and the City co-stars Chris Noth and Sarah Jessica Parker cannot be patched up.
Five years since their last rendezvous as Mr. Big and Carrie Bradshaw in revival series And Just Like That…, Noth has revealed what originally led to his fallout with Parker, which resurfaced in a public way earlier this month after the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
After the actress accepted her honorary Carol Burnett Award, which is bestowed upon those showcasing ‘outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen’ and has been won by Ted Danson and Ryan Murphy in recent years, Noth uploaded an image of himself at the gym onto Instagram. Its caption read: “F&@k new years - LETS GO!!!!”

The mask appeared to slip though when one of his followers asked for clarification with: “You mean f***k SJP & her award right? Lol.” Noth simply replied: “Right.”

Although he did go on to backtrack, telling the world that his 'off the cuff slightly sarcastic response' was 'not news', the situation seems to have reopened a wound.
Per People, in a preview clip of his appearance on Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson, the 71-year-old says of Parker: “We’re not friends, I think that’s pretty obvious.”
Noth, who is also recognizable to fans of The Good Wife and Law & Order, then suggests that Parker’s reaction to sexual assault allegations filed against him in 2021 has driven a wedge between them.
Two women went to The Hollywood Reporter with their stories of rape; one claimed she encountered Noth in 2004 and the other’s alleged incident unfolded in 2015.
A third individual came forward too, claiming via The Daily Beast that the actor sexually assaulted her in 2010 when she was 18.
He denied everything, saying their allegations 'read like a piece of bad fiction' and that he 'would never cross that line'.
At the time, Parker and her Sex and the City colleagues Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon released a joint statement, which Noth has now shared his thoughts on.

The statement said: "We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
Here’s what Noth thinks of the whole thing: “The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising.
"Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked [together] for many years.
"I get it, that’s more Hollywood than Hollywood. But before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this. And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad.”
Apparently, Noth now knows who his real friends are. “Just know if it had been on the other hand, I wouldn’t have done that. That was hurtful, and it really affected everything,” he reflects.
