Billie Eilish fans left stunned after realizing they’ve been added to her Instagram Close Friends list
The singer sent her followers into a frenzy
There’s often an invisible barrier between celebrities and fans, and it seems as though you’ll never cross over to becoming close to your idol.
That is, unless your idol is Billie Eilish.
If you’re not following the 'Ocean Eyes' singer on Instagram, you’ve probably missed out on one of the greatest days of your life after the 22-year-old surprised her 115 million followers by gifting them access to her inner circle.
Now, if you don’t know, on the social media site there are different levels of sharing content.

If your account is public - like Eilish's - there are things which everyone can see, such as pictures, reels and Stories or there are Stories that are exclusive to your Close Friends list. This feature allows you to curate a list of followers that can see your private Stories.
Oh, what I’d do to become close friends with Eilish.
However, she’s only gone and added all followers to her Close Friends list on Instagram on Thursday (4 April).
And, fans have obviously been losing their minds after making the realization.
The 'What Was I Made For' hit-maker first shared with her new besties a photo of a hand in front of the night sky and eagle-eyed viewers noticed the little green label at the top of the image telling them that they’d been added to her list.
Eilish's antics were soon trending on X and many shared their excitement at the move.
One fan posted a screenshot of Eilish's Story, writing: “Mom: why is billie eilish at your wedding??' me: that's my bestie.”
Another shared a clip of YouTube queen Trisha Paytas eating with a cardboard cutout of a shadow person and wrote: “Me and Billie Eilish after she added me to her close friends.”
Someone else commented alongside a picture of Cillian Murphy winning an Oscar: “How I feel after seeing myself in Billie Eilish’s instagram close friends.”
While another chimed in: “Opening instagram and pretending that billie eilish personally put me on her close friends list.”
It certainly looks like fans are taking this victory and running with it.

She also shared an image of a tattoo to her Close Friends, and, of course, people lost their minds.
One person wrote: “Me sending my bestie billie eilish 50 reels and tiktoks in 2 minutes after being added to her close friends.”
How would you react to your idol surprising you with something like this? I would simply pass out and live my life in a state of euphoria.
