Kim Kardashian Lost Huge Amount Of Weight In Three Weeks With An Intense Diet Before The Met Gala

The reality TV star wore an iconic Marilyn Monroe dress

Kim Kardashian's Marilyn Monroe-inspired choice for 2022's Met Gala came with a very strict diet plan, and saw her lose a huge amount of weight in just three weeks.

The reality TV star rocked up to this year's event in the same dress the movie star wore throughout her famous performance for John F. Kennedy's 45th Birthday.

Monroe took to Madison Square Garden on May 19, 1962, just three months before her death.

Well, to fit into that stunning gold dress, Kim told Vogue that she had to lose 16 pounds (1.14 stone) in just three weeks.

She said: "It was this or nothing."

The 41-year-old claims she 'would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein'.

She added: "I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict."

After nearly a month of intense dieting, Kim said she was completely relieved that the dress fit perfectly.

She confessed: "I wanted to cry tears of joy when it went up."

With regards to her rendition of the famous Monroe look, Kim explained that it took more than 14 hours to get her luscious locks turned from jet black to Marilyn blonde.

"The idea really came to me after the gala in September last year," she said.

"I thought to myself, what would I have done for the American theme if it had not been the Balenciaga look?

"What’s the most American thing you can think of? And that’s Marilyn Monroe.

"For me the most Marilyn Monroe moment is when she sang 'Happy Birthday', to JFK, it was that look."

Incredibly, Kim wasn't allowed to even wear the dress for the whole of the Met Gala.

She was simply permitted to put it on (with gloves and no body makeup), walk the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, climb the famous stairs, take a few pictures, and then slip out of the dress.

"I’m extremely respectful to the dress and what it means to American history. I would never want to sit in it or eat in it or have any risk of any damage to it," she explained.

"Everything had to be specifically timed and I had to practice walking up the stairs."
