Jennifer Lopez has never exactly been shy when it comes to talking about love, but her latest comments are enough to raise some eyebrows.
Fresh from promoting her new movie Kiss of the Spider Woman, the 56-year-old appeared on The Howard Stern Show this week, where she opened up about her past relationships and didn’t hold back.
It’s been a whirlwind year for the pop icon. After finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck in January 2025, Lopez threw herself back into work, producing and starring in the Broadway adaptation alongside Tonatiuh and Diego Luna. The film, directed by Bill Condon, has been hailed as one of her boldest performances yet.
But while Lopez has been focused on her career comeback, her recent comments on Howard Stern’s show prove she’s not afraid to keep it brutally real when it comes to her exes.

Reported on by People, when Stern asked if she ever checks in on former partners, Lopez laughed before delivering the line: “Once I’m done, you’re dead to me.” She then quickly followed it up with: “I’m going to get in trouble!”
For those who don’t follow J-Lo, those who do would probably say it was classic behavior in all fairness: funny, sharp, and just the right amount of savage. That’s especially because she later clarified she doesn’t literally cut people off, adding: “Not dead to me — but definitely, it’s over, I’m going to move on.”
The comments come just days after she made headlines for shutting down Today Show host Craig Melvin, who brought up her divorce during a live interview. Melvin had mentioned her split with Affleck mid-conversation, prompting Lopez to cut him off, saying: “There you go! Look at this guy!”

Despite the awkward moment, Lopez still gave credit to her ex-husband, admitting: “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made.” She went on to say the project ‘really got [her] through’ one of the hardest periods of her life.
It’s clear Lopez is channeling that energy into self-preservation and moving forward. Speaking to Stern, she admitted she’s learned to live her life more privately, saying: “I live my life very out loud… even though I’m in the public eye. And I wanted to share my life with someone. I want someone to be there to share my big important moments on the red carpet.”
As for right now, though, she said: “I just want to keep that part so much more quiet in my life.”
