Jamie Foxx spotted in public for first time since hospitalization for 'medical complication'

The Oscar-winner was spotted waving to fans amid his undisclosed health struggles.

Jamie Foxx has been spotted out in public for the first time after he was hospitalized for an undisclosed ‘medical complication’.

The Oscar-winning actor, 55, has been absent from the public eye since his hospitalisation in April, with only a few updates from his family about his treatment and recovery.

Jamie Foxx has been sighted for the first time since April.

While the reason behind his health remains under wraps, the video was obtained and shared by TMZ over the weekend.

The Django Unchained star was spotted cruising down the Chicago river on a yacht while waving to fans.

According to TMZ, the actor was accompanied by a few other passengers on board the yacht.

Foxx’s daughter Corrine, 29, hit out at rumours suggesting the family were preparing for the worst after reports emerged about the actor’s health.

Amid the rumours in May, Corrine clarified that her dad had been 'out of the hospital for weeks' and is 'recuperating'.

Her statement read: “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”

Jamie Foxx had to drop out of hosting Beat Shazam due to his hospitalisation.

The 55-year-old actor had a medical emergency while filming in Atlanta for his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action on 12 April.

Foxx stars in the film alongside Cameron Diaz, Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott and Jamie Demetriou.

Production was well underway when Foxx was forced to step away from the project due to his health issues. Body doubles were used in Foxx’s place to film the remaining scenes.

Corinne Foxx's statement on the 'medical complication' her father suffered was released the day after it happened.

Her post at the time read: "From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.

Jamie Foxx shared a message with his fans on Instagram in May.

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

"We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.

"Much love, The Foxx Family."

In May, Foxx broke his silence and shared a message with fans. He wrote: “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed," the 55-year-old wrote.

The Django Unchained star also gave a shout out to Nick Cannon for filling in for him as the host on his TV show Beat Shazam.

"Appreciate ya, my boy Nick Cannon. See u all soon," he wrote on his Instagram Story.
