Jamie Foxx’s daughter gives update on his health after claims they were ‘preparing for the worst’

Corinne Foxx has shared an update on her father's health on social media

Jamie Foxx's daughter has given an update on her father's health after it was claimed that the actor's family were 'preparing for the worst'.

Earlier this week, several blogs posted updates on social media without a named source, suggesting that the Foxx family was anticipating bad news regarding the Django Unchained actor's health.

However on Friday (12 May) Corinne Foxx hit out at these claims and revealed that her father has been at home 'for weeks' and is 'recuperating'.

Corinne re-shared one of the blog posts on her Instagram Stories and clarified the false information.

Her statement read: “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!

“We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

Corine responded to the rumours on social media.

The 55-year-old actor had a medical emergency while filming in Atlanta for his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action on 12 April.

Foxx stars in the film alongside Cameron Diaz, Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott and Jamie Demetriou.

Jamie Foxx shared a message to his fans.

Production was well underway when Foxx was forced to step away from the project due to his health issues. Body doubles were used in Foxx’s place to film the remaining scenes.

Corinne Foxx's statement on the 'medical complication' her father suffered was released the day after it happened.

Her post reads: "From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

"We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.

"Much love, The Foxx Family."

Fox is said to be 'recuperating'.

The actor’s family have kept the nature of his condition private from the public which has led to speculation online.

After fans were asked to pray for the Soul actor, Foxx returned to social media on 3 May to thank his friends, family and fans for their support.

The Oscar-winning actor took to Instagram to share his thanks with his followers, adding a prayer hands emoji, a heart emoji, and fox emoji.

"Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed," he wrote.

He also also gave a shout out to Nick Cannon for filling in for him as the host on his TV show Beat Shazam.

Kelly Osbourne will act as Corinne Foxx's replacement on the show as her father continues to recover.
