Eva Mendes has revealed that she and husband Ryan Gosling don’t allow their two young daughters to access the internet, but admits it may get more difficult to control as they get older.

Mendes, 49, started dating the 42-year-old Barbie star in 2011 shortly after they filmed The Place Beyond the Pines together.

Since then the pair have welcomed two daughters: Esmeralda Amada, eight, and Amada Lee, seven.

And in a recent post on Instagram, the mom-of-two has given a peek inside their parenting style admitting that the little ones are kept away from social media and the internet in general.

Sharing a clip of herself shaking her head and moving her hands in disapproval, Mendes joked: “When my kids ask me if they’re old enough to go on the internet, social media or anything requiring wifi,” alongside a crying-laughing emoji.

The post was largely praised by fellow parents, with one responding: “I totally agree with this great parenting mama!”

Another said: “Agreed. My kiddo didn’t get a phone till he was 14 and didn’t get social media until 17.

"Too much comparison and thinking other people's lives are perfect when it’s not. Is causing these kiddos mental issues.”

While a third commented: “I don’t think it’s safe for anybody’s mental health anymore. Too much hate to handle.”

Mendes also took the time to share a little more detail with fans, adding: "I'm just sharing what I feel now, but I know it's gonna get harder as they get older.”

And when a fan wrote: "We are in the internet century so eventually everyone will need or want to access the internet sorry,”

Mendes replied: "Yes true, but in my house, children do not have access to the internet. It's too dangerous. Just like drinking or voting or getting a driver's license (etc..) isn't allowed for children, the internet falls under that category for me. Especially social media."

Mendes recently shared her surprisingly down-to-earth summer plans, after admitting she had hoped for an ‘easy summer’.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, she wrote: "So this summer was supposed to be easy. I was like, 'Bring boredom back'.

"But you know things happen, and the kids want to do certain classes and things. So now I am just a chauffeur. A chauffeur, a water girl. It's hot, so I bring them water."

It’s nice to see even A list moms don’t get out of doing taxi duties for their kids.
