Eva Mendes may be ready for another acting gig, but she’s got some strict rules in place if she does ever return to the big screen.

The 48-year-old actor and model starred in a number of 00s hits, including Hitch, Ghost Rider and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

However, she hasn’t starred in a major movie or show since The Lost River, which was made in 2013, marking nearly ten years off the job.

Instead, Mendes has been busy working on her fashion line for New York & Co and raising her two daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, with partner Ryan Gosling.

This might all be changing though, as the star appeared on Tuesday’s (10 May) episode of The View to talk about the kind of roles she’d be interested in moving forward.

But if she does return from her acting hiatus, she’s not interested in taking on anything involving sex or violence.

Speaking to co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Mendes explained: “I have such a short list of what I will do. Like, before kids, I was kind of up for anything. I mean, you know, if it was a fun project.

“But now, I don’t want to do violence, I don’t want to do sexuality… the list is short.”

Have a listen to what she said below:

When asked whether she would get back into acting if a special project came up that fit the criteria, the mum-of-two replied: “I hope so, it has to be nice and clean.”

Goldberg then put forward the idea of a Disney film, to which she agreed: “Disney, perfect.”

This isn’t the first time the actor has shown interest in working for the family favourite franchise, having previously said she’d like to play a Disney villain.

In a 2020 interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said: “Acting is something that I will always love. It's just like now that I have children, I'm kind of extreme.

“There's just so many things I won't do. Like I won't do most of the movies I've done in the past.

“A lot of things are off that list. I don't want to do anything too violent. Of course, I don't want to do anything too sexual or sexual at all."

"So I'm basically like, 'Disney, I'm all yours, Disney.’ That's all that's left."

But rather than playing an iconic House of Mouse princess, Mendes explained: "I'm more of the villain kinda type of girl. I'm more of the Ursula type... I like the villains of the Disney movies. They're fun."
