One wealthy man has become obsessed with living forever, but TikTokers have pointed out one clear issue following the release of his documentary.

Bryan Johnson has been on a mission to extend his life as much as possible, and he's certainly put his money where his mouth is on this venture.

The 47-year-old spends an eye watering $2 million a year to try and live forever and has been open on social media about his many successes and failures.

This project has seen him dabble in some unusual experimental areas - like injecting himself with his son's blood, following a strict diet, exercise regimen, and using UV-free light, red light, and oxygen therapy every day.

In 2023, he posted on Medium: "With my world-class team of doctors, researchers and clinicians, if I am able to reverse my measured biological age by 1.01 years for every one year that passes, that is evidence that we have reached the first stage of aging escape velocity where life expectancy increases faster than passed time."

At the start of the year, he released a documentary on Neflix that followed his journey to immortality entitled: Don't Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever.

However, social media users have pointed out clear issues with Johnson’s thinking and the effort he is going to to extend his life.

TikTok user Mike Mancusi, posted on his page, Mikemancusi, that, for starters, that there was an issue with the documentary title.

He said: “I’m not going to spoil the ending of the documentary, I'm going to spoil the ending of literally everything, is that he is going to die, we are all going to die, that is what things do."

He also added: “He has used his endless time and resources to develop a formula for ‘anti-aging’ and he is saying that means he is ‘aging backwards’, that isn’t what is happening.

“All that is happening is that he is aging slower.

“And you can age slower too, if you don’t have a full time job, if you don’t have a family, if you don’t have literally anything else to do and also you have all the money in the world to afford the 70 pills, the 12-hour workouts and all the supplements and all the crap he has to put into his body.

“If you can do that, you can also age slower.”

Many others users agreed and offered their two cents on the attempt to ‘live forever’.

One person commented: “So he’s gonna spend his entire life….just trying to live longer while…not living.”

Another added: “Haha. [Death] the only thing that you can’t escape from no matter how much wealth you accumulate.”

A third added: “What makes me sad about these millionaires and billionaires- imagine The good all of their money could do, instead of wasting it on self centered pursuits.”

With another writing: “I watched it. It sounded interesting but his whole life is solely focused on living longer … he barely does anything to live in the moment. His life is a science experiment …kinda defeats the purpose.”

So if nothing else, the documentary sounds like an interesting view of how far someone will go to look slightly younger than their age.
