Five grams or more is known as a ‘heroic dose’ and was coined by American philosopher Terence McKenna, who was one of the most famous supporters of magic mushrooms.

By the end of the experiment, Johnson said he would be taking a bit of time to collect his thoughts and on November 16, he shared his conclusions.

In playful comments on his X page, he insisted it was ‘sensitive data’ and that people shouldn’t repost or talk about his findings.

After a post forcing the user to scroll down, he said: “Ok here is the situation, since the mushroom trip I’ve been having multiple spontaneous erections every day. something I haven’t experienced since childhood.

“The possible reason why is the mushrooms reduced my cognitive inhibition, increased parasympathetic tone, and increased brain entropy, leading to a more flexible, youthful nervous system.

“This week i'll be measuring my nighttime erections to assess any change there.

“Remember, night time erections are had by men and women every single night and are one of the strongest predictors of overall health.

“Now, recall your commitment, do not repost this and do not mention it in the comments. we need to respect others who don't want to know about this.”

A 2024 study found that there may be some notable overlap between the use of psychedelic drugs and sexual function.

The study was published in the journal Nature by researchers from the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London.

Their analysis of almost 300 people before and after a psychedelic experience revealed that on average people reported improvements across a range of sexual functions up to six months after.

These improvements included enjoyment of sex, sexual arousal, satisfaction with sex, attraction to partner, their own physical appearance, communication, and their sense of connection.
