Arguably two of the biggest names in television teamed up last night (27 February) to share with viewers the uncanny resemblance between one another.

The White Lotus' Aubrey Plaza and Wednesday's Jenna Ortega joined forces during Sunday's 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards to present an award as a very iconic duo - leading fans to theorise whether the two could do more than just present together. Have a look at the pair in action:

After the awards ceremony, to many fans' overwhelming excitement, Plaza confirmed she was 'down' to collaborate with Ortega on a future project someday following their show-stopping stint of co-presenting as a unit.

Both Plaza and Ortega have been in the biz for years now - yet the two sky-rocketed into even more fame last year for each of their respective leading performances in two of the hottest shows from 2022.

Plaza, 38, starred as deadpan Harper in the hit comedy-drama series, The White Lotus, while Ortega, 20, played the equally deadpan role of Wednesday Addams in the long-anticipated Netflix adaptation of the cult-classic Addam's Family titled Wednesday.

So, given their similar characters, it made total sense for the pair to get together and present an award at the prestigious awards evening.

After a full 10 seconds or so of awkward silence standing at the podium together, Plaza finally said: "I don't know why they paired us up together."

"I know, we have nothing in common," Ortega responded.

Plaza, in full character went on: "We should find the people who did this," before the two actors recited in an eerily synchronised fashion, "and curse their families and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations."

Definitely an alternative presenting strategy to take indeed.

As the dynamic duo recited this line, the crowd erupted in a chorus of laughter after seeing the undeniable similarities in the stars' demeanour.

"Okay, I see it now," Plaza joked.

Following the awards evening, Plaza spoke to Entertainment Tonight a little bit about the SAG Awards and, namely, just how well The White Lotus did.

The comedy-drama series took home two awards; Ensemble in a Drama Series alongside Female Actor in a Drama Series which was awarded to none other than Jennifer Coolidge.

ET's Denny Directo asked the Plaza bout her short and sweet collab with Ortega up on the podium, saying that fans need a 'buddy cop comedy or something' that would star both award-winning stars.

"Oh, I'm down," Plaza confirmed, adding, "We'll just kill everybody with our eyes."

Plaza ended the interview revealing that the pair just 'went with it' and fans couldn't be happier that they did.

One Instagram user wrote: "Perfect. We need these two together in series or movie."

"I would pay good money to see these two play sisters or something," admitted another

A third posted: "These two need a TV series together immediately."

"This was definitely the best thing about the sag awards," added another, clearly enthused, fan.

The streaming giant, Netflix itself has even weighed in on the incredible chemistry between the two actors tweeting: "I have nothing to do with casting, but how incredible would Aubrey Plaza be as one of Wednesday’s relatives in Season 2?!?"

Regardless if the two do team up for the second season of the hit television show or not, it's fair to say that the pair definitely deserve to be in a dark comedy together some day.
