People aren’t impressed after seeing the gift that Apple employees received for their work on the ‘revolutionary’ Vision Pro, having been given something decidedly less hi-tech.

Apple’s Vision Pro is a spatial computer that ‘seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world, while allowing users to stay present and connected to others’.

Controlled by a user’s eyes, hands and voice, it serves as an ‘infinite canvas’ for apps, without the boundaries of a traditional display.

“Built upon decades of Apple innovation, Vision Pro is years ahead and unlike anything created before — with a revolutionary new input system and thousands of groundbreaking innovations,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the time it was unveiled last year.

“It unlocks incredible experiences for our users and exciting new opportunities for our developers.”

No doubt those who worked on the pioneering product are full of pride after their hard work – something Apple decided to acknowledge with a gift.

Pictures of said gift started to surface on social media this week, with Apple News’ Kevin Aubin posting a snap on X, writing: “Apple employees who worked for the Vision Pro get a nice gift."

The picture showed... well, a picture.

To be more specific, it was an outline of the new gadget, with a message underneath that read: "Thank you for helping the world say hello to Apple Vision Pro."

Some wondered if employees would prefer the real thing.

While some people seemed stoked with the present, many others were left pondering the same thing.

One commented: "Is that a picture/picture frame? Wouldn't a nice gift be ... a Vision Pro?"

Someone else asked: “But not a Vision Pro?”

A third wrote: “A picture frame? Lol.”

A fourth added: “I wonder if they’d rather have the real thing.”

This employee said they 'loved' theirs.

You see, in many industries, those who work on a product - whether it's a physical item, video game or a movie – sometimes get a copy of what they’ve produced for free.

The only thing is, the Vision Pro is pretty expensive, with prices starting from around $3,500, and is also in very high demand.

Instead of dishing out free headsets, Apple is offering employees 25 percent off the Vision Pro if they’re keen to get their hands on one, with Bloomberg reporting staff were told about the discount in a memo.

Mind you, some staffers were just happy with their framed picture, with one happily tweeting a photo of theirs to show it off.

“I love it!” they said.
