The iPhone 16 - which will be available in four different models - has been teased for months and now it's finally here - and it's got some pretty different features to the phones which've come before it.
The look
iPhone 16 'celebrates color' available in five different shades - white, black, ultra marine, teal and pink - which all come with an aero-space grade aluminium finish.

And not only that, but it's 'built to last' and has a 'new glass ceramic formulation' - with the shield being 50 percent tougher than the original shield.
The phone comes in two sizes; 6.1 inches for the iPhone 16 and 6.7 inches for the Plus.
There's also a customizable action button for you to add shortcuts and perform actions with jut one press of a button.
Oh and the phone also comes with a dedicated camera button.

The camera
When you click on the dedicated camera button, it launches the camera and you can just click again to take a picture or click and hold to take a video.
The button echoes the feeling of a classic camera button and can distinguish between a full click or a lighter press - a lighter press helping focus on framing the shot. You can then slide your finger up and down to zoom in or out or change between functions.

The main camera is 48 megapixels and it has 'four times more resolution' than the iPhone 14 which came before it, and if that wasn't enough, the iPhone also has an ultra-wide camera too.
Dubbed the '48 megapixel fusion camera,' 'iPhone 16 users will get the equivalent of four lenses in their pocket,' the announcement revealed.
The photos app is also 'redesigned' so photos and videos are better organized and the app is also now 'customizable'.
Clean-up means you can remove 'distracting objects' in photos including their 'reflections and shadows' alongside excess background noise in videos too.

The camera on the iPhone 16 also works in partnership with Apple's AI tool Apple Intelligence and its Chat GPT function to exhibit 'visual intelligence', so you can look up information about your surroundings i.e. pointing your camera at a cafe and seeing it's opening hours.
The chip
With a new iPhone comes a new chip - the A18. The chip has been designed to work with the phone's new artificial intelligence features and supports a better gaming experience such as 'five time higher frame rates' so graphics run more smoothly.
The iPhone 16 will also support AAA games previously only able to be played on the iPhone 15 Pro.
The A18 is reported as being up to 30 percent faster than the iPhone 15's chip - the A16 Bionic - as a result of a new thermal substructure which prevents it from overheating.
And this has an impact on the battery - in a very good way.
The battery
With even more features comes the need to have a more reliable battery and the iPhone 16 delivers on that too.
Not only is the chip reported as being more efficient but it has a larger internal battery too.
*Cries tears of joy*
iOS 18
Apple Intelligence being integrated into iOS 18 for its iPhone 16 devices doesn't just impact the camera but introduces new ways to customize your iPhone and new text effects too.
It helps you stay more in control of your notifications - able to make some a 'priority' - and Siri is getting an upgrade too, and it is able to understand you even if you've had a long day at work and stumble over your words.
Emergency SOS live video means you can share photos or a live feed with 911 services to help them better assess the emergency.
It also includes messages sent via satellite meaning you can still contact people off the grid.
Emergency SOS and Find My via Satellite are available in the US alongside 17 other countries.
The price
Well, this is the element which might surprise you most, with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus set to start at $799 and $899 - matching the price of earlier models despite the abundance of new features.
Granted, it's still expensive, but do you reckon you'll give it a try?
The iPhone 16 is expected to go on sale later this month, you’ll be able to shop it at the likes of Sky Mobile, Amazon and Carphone Warehouse.
