What would you do if you knew that humanity had just weeks left before a catastrophe ending all life on Earth?
While some of us might be tempted to spend our remaining time with copious amounts of alcohol, or simply running around screaming, Prophet Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi's followers are still aiming for world peace.
This is despite the messianic figure predicting a comet will hit Earth by the end of the year.
Shahi made this life-ending prediction in the year 2000 in his widely selling Urdu book The Religion of God, which galvanized his fanatical supporters.

But a year later, in September 2001, Shahi vanished from the world without a trace – a mystery that has not been solved to this day.

Since then, his followers have expanded his organization, Messiah Foundation International (MFI), with the express aim of fostering world peace – the only thing that can stop the comet from smashing into our planet, they say.
Shahi stated in 2000 that God was sending a comet to destroy the earth in response to the continued proliferation of nuclear weapons and deadly global conflicts over material concerns.
The prophet – proclaimed as a combination of the second coming of Jesus, Islam's Mahdi and the 10th and final incarnation of Vishnu – predicted that we all had '20 to 25 years' to avert armageddon, which does not give humanity much time left to solve world peace.
His organization now believes the 'mammoth comet' will definitely strike in 2026, while also claiming that governments are aware that it is 'hurtling towards Earth'.
Based on Shahi's prophecies, his followers believe that human ingenuity will not be enough to save us this time.
They predict on their website: "Although scientists think that by 2026 we will have the technology necessary to destroy or redirect the comet, there is a chance that we simply won’t.
"Increased natural disasters in recent years and the state of the world’s resources today are clear signs that the end is near."

Scientists and astronomers around the world have identified no potential strikes on our planet by any celestial bodies, this month or next year – and the nearest known comet to us is expected to remain 170 million miles away from Earth.
But even if a comet does not end up doing away with humanity as it's widely believed one did for the dinosaurs, the messiah's followers argue that the 'end times' are upon us either way.
In an analysis that would have been accurate at any point in the past 1000 years, they point to 'strong tensions between East and West' – as well as signs that World War Three could bring about this armageddon at any time.
Yet, with mass civilian death marring much of 2025 – from the Congo to Sudan and Gaza – the group's final argument that we face catastrophe is hard to argue with.
MFI states: "Everywhere in the world that we look, human life has lost its value; suffering is the order of the day. Many of us have lost faith in humanity itself."
