Shocking footage has revealed what Nick Reiner appeared to be doing in the moments before his arrest in connection with his parents' murder.
On Sunday (December 14), cops confirmed Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were killed in their Brentwood, LA, home after responding to reports of 'medical assistance' required in the property at around 3.30pm local time.
It later transpired the veteran Hollywood director, 78, and his wife of more than three decades, had been stabbed to death. It is believed their youngest child, daughter Romy, 28, found the pair in the $13.5m mansion before making the desperate calls to 911.
The Reiner's second-born son, Nick, has since been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He also stands accused of using a dangerous weapon, believed to be a knife, in his alleged attack on his parents.

Now, new CCTV footage has surfaced which appears to show what the 32-year-old was doing in the moments before cops apprehended him in the hours after they came across the scene.

The harrowing video appears to show Nick, wearing a hat and carrying a backpack casually slung over one shoulder, strolling around a gas station store in Exposition Park. He could be seen picking up a drink and joining the line to pay for it when what looks like a law enforcement officer walks in.
In a split second, the suspect comes face-to-face with the officer and his demeanour appears to shift as he continues to wait in line.
In another clip, Nick appears to be walking along the sidewalk when cop cars swarm around him, some four miles away from the crime scene in the area of Exposition Boulevard and Vermont Avenue on Sunday evening.

As officers get out of their cars, Nick then appears to raise his hands in surrender, after which he's put in handcuffs and taken into custody.
The Reiner's son, known for a troubled history of drug addiction and mental health problems since his teenage years, allegedly clashed with his parents at a Christmas party hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien the night before the murders.
According to NBC News, a source alleged his parents were embarrassed by his behaviour and expressed concerns about his health.
TMZ first reported that Reiner and his son got into a 'very loud argument' at the star-studded bash, with further sources alleging to PEOPLE that Nick was 'freaking everyone out.'

After being booked for the federal murder charge, where he could possibly face the death penalty if found guilty, he was due to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday (December 16), but his attorney said he was not able to attend for medical reasons.
Alan Jackson, who represented disgraced Hollywood star Harvey Weinstein in his high-profile rape case, said his client would not appear as he had not been 'medically cleared' to do so.
Nick has also not yet entered a plea.
