Rosie O'Donnell and Trump have been trading brutal words after the president threatened to revoke her citizenship.

Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell really don’t see eye to eye and the spat has been going on for quite some time.

However, over the weekend it really started to heat up.

In a seemingly random attack on the comedian and long-time critic, Trump took to Truth Social to issue a threat to her.

He wrote: “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

O'Donnell moved to Ireland with her 12-year-old son after Trump had secured his second term in office but has often publicly criticized Trump and his administration.

Experts have argued that regardless of Trump’s feelings towards O'Donnell, he cannot actually take away her citizenship.

Amanda Frost, a law professor at the University of Virginia School of Law, has spoken out and outlined the clear issue with Trump’s threat.

Frost said ultimately the Supreme Court ruled in a 1967 case that the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution prevents the government from taking away citizenship.

She added: “The president has no authority to take away the citizenship of a native-born US citizen.

“In short, we are nation founded on the principle that the people choose the government; the government cannot choose the people.”

But regardless of this, O’Donnell hit back at Trump in a brutal way and played into one of the most pressing issues he is facing right now.

O'Donnell responded on Instagram by posting a photograph of Trump with Jeffrey Epstein.

Writing in a caption, she said: "You are everything that is wrong with America and I'm everything you hate about what's still right with it.

"I'm not yours to silence. I never was."

Regarding the post, White House Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told UNILAD: “Rosie [O'Donnell's] unhinged rants are a symptom of late-stage TDS [Trump Derangement Syndrome]. She’s way too far gone.

"Thank goodness she’s no longer in the United States.”

Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and insisted he was not a fan of the disgraced pedophile before his death in 2019.

With that said, following an announcement from the FBI and the Department of Justice, even long-term supporters of Trump are frustrated with the president.

Both departments concluded that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself and that there was no client list he used to blackmail powerful and influential individuals.

Trump has snapped at reporters for questioning this conclusion and complained people are still going on about Epstein, this is despite it being one of his campaign promises that he would ‘declassify the Epstein files’.
